Having just watched episode 2, certainly Craig, Edith, and Craig quite rightly remain in the competition.

At the moment, for me, Craig is the standout. After the professional kitchen round, even the Head Chef asked him, "So. What time are you starting with us tomorrow?"

Yeah, Craig is good. Happy with tonight’s result, she was really getting on my nerves.

Graig is fantastic, yep she is just a PITA, all attention seeking and me, me, me!

I've watched episode 3, I won't put in any spoilers, I will say though the next lot of "celebrities", not a clue!

They do seem to have stretched the meaning of celebrity this series.

Following on from greygoose's contribution above, the definition of "celebrity" has certainly been stretched to breaking point by the latest contestants earlier.

I am, however, sure that one of them is a Gladiator.

He did mention it once or twice..........

I had a look on the series' website to see who the 20 celebrities were. I recognised one name and she has already gone home. They're really scraping the barrel this year.

I just watch as if they’re non-celebrities and see if they can cook. Anyone ‘famous’ for being on social media, influencing etc can get in the bin. Typically deeply annoying exhibitionist aholes.

These days there are not the same sorts of 'household names' in light entertainment as in the past as there are so many more channels/platforms/streams/etc than the past where you'd recognise everyone on Eastenders because you'd see at least one episode a month out of boredom when there were only 4 channels.

(And for the same reason there wasn't the need for cheap 'Celebrities Do Stuff' type shows as each channel only had to create 2 or 3 hours of actual primetime television a day.)

This thread has been very quiet.

It’s finals night tonight, does anyone here care?

We’ve enjoyed this series and the obvious camaraderie that has emerged between the final few. We’d be happy for any of them to win, but are secretly rooting for Vito…

Last week the wife mentioned to me about this, the series link had dropped off and I'd not noticed!

I think having episodes available on iPlayer ruins it a bit. I’ve usually watched them all before the first of the week goes out. Anyway, Craig gets my vote.

I thought all three we worthy of the win, but preferred both the dishes Craig prepared.
Great to see Anna Haugh make an appearance at the Chef's table cloud9 hope she returns as a judge for PMC, much prefer her to Monica!

As the winner has been announced, can I just say..

Strictly has started. Its had a lot of bad press all year. A strictly dancer wins the televised cookery competition. Hmmm....

I was happy enough with the result, Rochenda produced a puddle instead of ice cream and if Craig's panna cotta was any firmer then NHBC would have been investigating it as a new foundation material.

The camaraderie between the last half dozen was wonderful, really made the difference between good and very good tele.

That's unnecessarily cynical.
