Peckham's greatest barbers shop is open for business, repeats of the original series on Freeview Drama Thursday evenings.

You can stream all six series on Channel 4 OD.

I used to watch it back in the day, mostly because there was literally nothing else worth watching in the time slot.

Same reason I used to watch Songs of Praise, Ski Sunday and Antiques Roadshow whilst thinking "I really should start my homework soon"

I really cannot iamgine choosing to watch Desmonds now when there are a thousand better things to watch.

I've found that some of the early episodes just won't play on All4, same with the Comic Strip series. throws an error.

I tried to get into a year or so ago but just couldn't. I only lasted a few episodes.

Loved this show back in the day.

Very few black kids and mixed-race kids in my school years and they tend to come from single parents on benefits and the fear of them being trouble-makers.

Learnt a lot about the black community and its intricacies e.g. West Indian vs. Africans, barbershop as community hub, Windrush generation.

I don't watch much telly nowadays but it seems comedy was better during that time with Lenny Henry, The Real McCoy, and then years later there was Goodness Gracious Me.

Same. Loved it back in the day. I nostalgia’d and lost.
