The wreckage of Lancaster ED603 is discovered in an inland sea in the Netherlands. A coffer dam is built around the wreck ,then it's drained out and the remains ,both mechanical and human, are recovered..
I find it fascinating and also touching.

So I've had a (few) whisky, but that was brilliant. Good bit of engineering interest (as with all Guy Martin programmes) and incredibly moving. I enjoy WW2 stuff, but finding their initial engraved cigarette holders as if they had been opened yesterday really distills to a human nd personal level.

Thank you to the dutch for caring and bothering!

Nice television; what the Dutch are doing is superb.

Seeing the work done by the various governments in Europe for the lost veterans does make you stop and think .
The operation shown last night probably cost €1.5m ,funded by the government and overseen by permanent professionals . Always with deep respect and always with the relatives as the most important people and given the greatest consideration.
