When is your renewal due? Best practice is to call them up to "cancel" @ that point and stand firm for as long as possible, should get you back on your original rate

Price increase was in April which means that even when you agree a deal it’s not protected from price increases.

I posted on the other Sky thread about this topic.

In summary:

All discounts are on the mysky app come renewal, meaning there is limited scope for additional discounts.

My package was reduced to £80 when they were desperate to retain customers at the start of the cost of living crisis. (This was the first time they had reduced it by more than the previous deal in 16+ years as a customer).

However, the 18 month contracts allow for inflation +X % increase...so this went up to £92 and then at end of contract £110. (With mysky app discount). Called up and explained I wasn't going to pay an additional £30 after 18 months - they agreed to reduce it to £107.50!!.

I cancelled and then about a week before contract ended got a text - called them and they did the same package plus sky go extra for £95 which I accepted.

Others have not been so lucky when cancelling - whilst I'd like to think it's my negotiating skill I would imagine it's more about them hitting interal retention targets so sometimes they can be more flexible on price

I’ve just had the usual faff at the end of contract. I found doing live text gets the best price! Phone is useless, can hardly offer anything (has been the same for years) Found they were really playing hard ball this year, much harder than previous years. Must be wanting to loose some customers!
