Anybody else waiting for this to come out?

Based on the true story of the formation of the Outlaws MC, Tom Hardy & Austin Butler amongst other actors. As a biker I'm looking forward to it, just hoping the trailer isn't better than the actual movie.

IMO, America has an unhealthy obsession with glamorizing outlaws as some kind of rebels against the system, the misunderstood, underdogs.

The reality, they’re just thugs, who control through group intimidation and violence, treat various sectors of society like dirt. They’re not bikers, they are criminals, using bikes as pretence of freedom.

Then you need to watch Furiosa. Tons of them in that.

I have 2/3 friends, 2 of them are in HA support clubs and one is a HA prospect, I also years ago used to get tattoos done by a guy from the Outlaws in Wales. I obviously dont mention this to my HA friends, I say friends more like people I have had dealings with in the past, garage or gym related.

But yeh I'm of no illusion that they are saints.

Anybody seen it then? a work colleague said he enjoyed it and a few people I know from a motorbike group (Triumph owners) said they enjoyed it as well.

I have one friend(whose film tastes are fairly aligned) who has been to see it, and said it was tosh. Not a great review for a sample size of one mind!

Two keen cinema goers in my department have seen it this week and were generally apathetic about. 'It's alright I suppose' was the most glowing reference.

I saw it on Sunday. I'm not a biker but I doubt that would have mattered.

It was dull. It just fell flat; there was no excitement. A great cast but Tom Hardy and Austin Butler mumble through the majority of the film. Norman Reedus and Michael Shannon are entirely wasted and have tiny roles. Jodie Comer does her best with a lame script.

As we left the cinema I saw a poster of the Bike riders and on it said it was 'Goodfellas on bikes'. Not even close.

Got round to watching it at the weekend, I think the trailers made it look a little more exciting than it actually was, I'd probably say 6.5/10 overall. I didn't feel like id wasted 2 hours, maybe watch it once more in a year or so but at the same time it wasn't as action packed as id hoped.

I'm hoping that they do make a prequel to Sons of Anarchy.

Quite boring and unexciting, never fully gets going.

Huge laugh in cinema when one of the cast says ‘my dad was a toolmaker’

I wasn’t going to watch this, as I dislike anything that glorifies these types of people, IMO they’re the lowest of the low and I hate everything they stand for.

But as others pointed out, motorcycle content, so I thought I’d give it a try. The motorcycle content was not varied/detailed enough to making it interesting, was almost a side dish.

In the story itself, our affable Hell's Angels seem a jovial bunch miscreants, with only the occasional hint (it is there) of what they are really like, the film just never got going and seemed to lack direction.

Not enough motorcycle content, to make it worth watching.

That type has always been glamorised, just look at the Krays over in the UK along with a raft of gangster flicks by Guy Richie where they are loveable rogues.
For me it's not really surprising when we have a cruse ship company called Viking cruise's, anyone who has ever read up on what the Vikings were like in real life will know that by that logic in few hundred years there very well might be a nazi cruise travel company.....

And look what we have done to serial killers, glamorised as super intelligent ubermensch.

Its what we do, humans are weird.

6.5 is probably about right, maybe a little generous.

Very quickly became clear it was going to be more a documentary style film, than one with much of a story-line. Got to the end and wondered what the point of it was, what message did they try and get across? Not enough motorcycling to be a motorbike film. Not enough camaraderie to be a "brothers in arms" film. Not enough sex drugs and violence to be a gangster film. The whole thing is carried by Jodie Comer, with lots of Tom Hardy looking moody. Gf liked Austin Butler, although she had a nap towards the end I was amazed she made it that far.

6/10, will probably never see again, but glad I saw it once.

^ ^ ^ I’m aware of that, the American, so called “motorcycle clubs” were well down the road of violent criminality, long before the release, of Danny Lyon’s book.

Seen it the weekend myself after seeing trailers for it and thinking it looked good. Was expecting a sons of anarchy kind of film but was a little disappointed. Echo all that’s been said above. It’s ok just not enough of anything to keep you hooked. Little bit dull. Ok to watch if nothing else around but wouldn’t be in a hurry to watch again.
