Really wanted to enjoy this, but Christ it’s a struggle.

They just seem to spend all their time pissing about around the very edges of it.

Why they wasted so much time and effort on that container in tonight’s episode…. and spending hours paint stripping a bloody table.

I feel your pain.

Me and the Mrs watched all 4 episodes at her insistence (not binging).

I say watched but after the first episode, which was promising, I got increasingly incredulous at the unfocused faffing while she started to fall asleep half way through.

She thinks we'll see more progress in the next series. I'll be amazed if it gets recommissioned.

Yes we were thinking the same! Really like Keith, and his partner, but found it really frustrating.

Not sure if the container was just filler for tv, but we couldn’t understand why they just didn’t get one room habitable, then concentrate on getting the studio workable, then finish the rest.

Feels like they’ll be working on it for decades at this rate.

Totally agree, pretty boring, living in the container was silly, much better in building with more space, water and Lx. Kitchen?

Where were toilets, showers etc?

On the upside it at least feels a bit more real, including the messing about with the wrong priorities.

Not like a certain chateau show where vast amounts of work magically happened unmentioned in the background ready for the trivial efforts of the owners to happen on the 'untouched' site.

Re. Living quarters did seem a bit odd but there were toilets etc already in place in the building.

Enjoyed it despite the lack of progress. The bat droppings appear to have blown the initial budget.

From what I've heard, they need the TV money to really get going. Viewing figures have been good for the first series and the 2nd series is being filmed based on that & possibly the amount of TV money also based on success of first series. I’m told they now have some money from the TV series and are getting started on more major works.

Getting up in the middle of the night to wander across to the chapel for the toilet just does not appeal tome one bit

Lots of the living arrangement didn't appeal, personally I'd have either put a caravan in or more containers.

Not sure that bath was going to see any use once they'd worked out the effort of getting water into it, then out again.

That was baffling, what were people quoting 40 grand to do? Charitably even if the loft wasn't sound and the scaffolding was required for that reason the price was eye watering; wear decent masks and tyvek suits as the dust is hazardous, shovel the stuff into bags, seal them up and take it to the council dump, a couple of days work at most even for amateurs. Or given they're trying to be economic and green, put it in a corner of the garden and compost it. For all that it does pass the time amiably enough.

I somehow missed part 3 first time but have just watched it now. Although I accept some of the criticism it left me really looking forward to (hopefully) another series. It was the episode where they took up flooring, stripped out some of the seating, cleaned parts of the ceiling and Keith went to see an elderly potter. With the scaffolding down it gave a good impression of the impact the whole place is going to have. I enjoyed Dick and Angel's chateau which was really impressive on the outside but from a visual point of view the inside of the chapel is more interesting for me.
