Cancelling BT TV, want to keep Netflix account
Discussion
I've had BT TV for about 10 years. Rarely use the service these days, and the hardware has become unreliable.
The BT TV service includes Netflix, which I use a lot, but watch it on my Shield TV box.
BT have put the price up again, to £29. Netflix Premium is £18.
I want to cancel BT TV, but keep my Netflix account and pay Netflix directly.
How can I make this happen seamlessly?
I could just cancel BT, then sign up with Netflix, but I think I'd lose all my viewing data?

How much data do you have? What data?
The series that I'm part way through watching, what I've already watched, suggested series to watch next based on things I've watched/liked, etc.The "things you might like" function is particularly useful, as I've found and enjoyed plenty of series that I had no idea even existed.
I initially had a standalone Netflix account. BT took it over when they started offering Netflix in their bundle. That was seamless, as BT just took over the billing.

If you can't switch the billing for netflix and I would be surprised if you can't, you can just login to netflix on web-browser. Go to account and select transfer profile, there is an option that lets you create a new account with your existing profile. Then cancel BT TV.
Good to know, thanks.I've just had a "chat" with Netflix, which I should have tried first.
Unlike most companies/websites, the chat feature appears to be staffed by real people (or very good AI).
Apparently, because my Netflix account was originally a standalone account direct with them, they still have my PayPal details on file.
As soon as I cancel the BT service, Netflix will revert to billing me direct, with no disruption. It will happen automatically.
