This has to be one of the most obnoxious programmes out there. Basically follows a bunch of self important, money obsessed, bhy agents working for Oppenheimer Group - a real estate agent group owned by 2 short-arsed twin brothers.
We used to watch Selling Sunset (same format but LA) and at first it was mildly interesting just for the properties for sale and fancy cars.
Now I can’t stand it (my wife is currently watching the latest series). Even the properties they sell are obscene - a bit like “my house is bigger than your house”.
It’s got nothing to do with selling properties now - every episode just turns into a bhfest - the agents turn up at a property dressed like prostitutes and it’s more like a modelling agency.
Any parties (and there are plenty of them) or open houses they attend turn into a slagging match.
All they’re interested in is money - they’d throw their granny under a bus just to make a quick buck.
The guys are just as bad as the women.
Says everything about Americans and their obsession with greed, money, self importance and pure fake.

Soooo do you like it or not? Can’t tell hehe

As a resident of the OC.. I can confirm that this all totally scripted fakery. It’s like WWE.

Having said that, I have met many characters just like these in Newport and Laguna (I live in Laguna). There is LOTS of keeping up with the Joneses.

The houses of course, are very real and frankly stunning in every way. It is the epitome of the American dream.. if you have money you’ll have the best life ever here.

Of course it’s scripted - I mean you just happen to be having a conversation about slagging someone off in the office while you’re in a restaurant and strangely there’s at least 2 cameras filming you! Sounds like our UK stuff like Made in Chelsea or Housewives of Cheshire et al - never watched any of them and don’t plan to.
The characters in these programmes just seem to be amped up to be particularly obnoxious - suppose that’s what some people want to watch. I mean there’s not a nice one amongst them!
I like nice things and really respect people doing well if they work hard for it (which a lot of people in the UK struggle with - bitter & twisted) - we even designed and built our own contemporary house but I think we’re a bit more conservative in the UK. We don’t really shout things from the rooftops..

I don’t think Foxtons, Savilles or Knight Frank in London will lose much sleep. Scripted reality for ppv TV for the masses.
