Oh that's sad. Didn't follow them more than casually but seemed like a very rounded and likeable chap.

That is a shame, not a big TV watcher but I did like that pair.

He put up a brave fight.

Such a shame, had a beer with them once and they were exactly the same off screen. Great company, he will be sadly missed

Aa, that's sad.

I don't know why, but i was under the impression that he was in remission, so this is a bit a shock. Seemed a very affable guy

Very sad news indeed, use to enjoy watching them, especially last years xmas special where it showed him getting on a bike again for the first time and then cooking a xmas meal for all those who had helped him on his journey to fighting Cancer!

Agreed. I enjoyed their shows and books and this episode was very moving.

Guess I'm going to have to make their sizzling balti this evening.

Yes a shame. Seemed a nice bloke.

I've used a number of hairy biker recipes over the years and they always came out well.

Such a shame. He's been very ill of late but still managed on last series. RIP

There are some people you see on TV who you suspect aren’t that nice in real life. And then there are people like Dave. I wasn’t a regular watcher but always enjoyed it when I caught one of their episodes.

I thought that too.

Sadly too many people I have known go through this horror, then remission but then die. Awful.

As others have said, I didn't follow the show, but every time I saw him on TV, he seemed such a lovely bloke. Very sad to have died so young.

A great shame.

Their apple pie is a long time favourite in the OMITN household. Might have to conjure something up of theirs tonight.

And their Route 66 trip was amazing - Mrs OMITN has driven some of it and it remains an ambition to drive the whole lot.

Also the only people to make me seriously consider riding a motorcycle on the road. They made it looked relaxed and fun.

A mate of mine met them a few years ago - pre their famous diet - and described them as lovely guys and also the size of giants..!

RIP Dave. I always used to watch them, definitely one of the better cookery programmes on the telly.m They were characters and the trips were really interesting.
