The dubbed over radio and sounds from a completly different race/situation is worse than ever
Whilst that is very true (to us fans), I feel like in other ways it’s less ‘dumbed down’ than the last couple of seasons. To me there is more new material and footage which feels like an addition to last season, compared to a ‘season review’ with a couple of extra bits and bobs. Only a few episodes in, enjoying it for what it is so far.
Might be an unpopular opinion as I know we all dislike him, but I get the impression Horner has a genuine affection for Ricciardo. I feel he sees every other driver, even Max, is seen as a commodity who would be chucked away when no longer needed, but he definitely has a soft spot for Danny and would like to see him do well.
Might just be me?

I thought that. CH showing his caring side. Might be an unpopular opinion as I know we all dislike him, but I get the impression Horner has a genuine affection for Ricciardo. So far I'm finding the contrived fly on the wall stuff I bit too much, watching Zac getting put straight by his Chairman looks so staged (which it is) as did his little chat with Lando on the golf course, I suspend disbelief for this stuff in the main but they're not good enough actors to pull some of this stuff off.
We know a certain amount is fake but it has to feel real if they are going to put so much of it in.

Only watched the first episode but the (seemingly genuine) buddy chats between Wolff and Vasseur make me cringe a little with the knowledge of what’s to come (even though we all know Netflix cut the footage to do exactly that).

Oh nothing bad, but I just imagine a couple of awkward conversations after Lewis signed. Yeah all’s fair in love and war, and Wolff too much of a professional to say anything else, but I have to imagine there was a bit of tension, at least initially.
As far as the dirty political tricks of the F1 paddock go, drivers moving teams isn't very high on the list, the drivers and teams know and accept that if they don't perform either side can walk. I doubt Wolff has any animosity towards Fred over that.
