Obviously I don't have Apple TV. I resist having too many platforms

But this might be the thing that gets me to give even more of my money to Apple.

Jan 26th release date. Cue inevitable column inch comparisons with BoB and The Pacific.

I'm very much looking forward to this, although (shamefully) I never finished either BoB of The Pacific. Started BoB twice I think but don't think I ever got more than a few eps in.

ETA - Out of everything, this year I think Apple has the strongest line up of original content so if you're thinking about it you'll be kept busy for a few months I guarantee it. That's aside from the stuff they've already had on there, particularly Sci-fi type shows. They have loads of very high quality stuff.

The book was excellent, I read it a few years ago. Looking forward to this.

I've watched both Band of Brothers and The Pacific and enjoyed them both greatly.

I'd love to be proved wrong but the trailer for Masters of the Air looks a bit Hollywood / Pearl Harbour by comparison.

I'll still watch of course.

Is it likely that it will come out on dvd / blu ray? I'd hope so given the previous two series did. Not sure if I can wait that long though!

Definitely worth watching Bob and the pacific. Band of brothers was possibly the best series I’ve ever seen and I watch a lot of tv!

If this is your thing, then it’s really easy to wait for all the episodes to be available and just pay for a month’s subscription, assuming you can’t find a free trial.

Band of brothers is one of the finest pieces of television ever, the Pacific was pretty good too. I was looking forward to masters of air till I saw the trailer.
Looks a mess of CGI, sort of like Dunkirk was.

I have just rewatched Greyhound on Apple also with Tom Hanks. About the WW2 Atlantic convoys - tense, gripping and hopefully Masters of the Air will be of a similar standard.

There’s only been one “turkey” for me on Apple - Invasion. Other than that from a standing start they’ve built up quite a collection of engaging content. Even stuff that didn’t initially appeal like The Morning Show (series 1) and Bad Sisters I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I think All Mankind and Slow Horses are the standout series. Both absolutely remarkable.

BOB is my all time No1 movie/series. Watched it over Christmas and it hasn't aged, it could be released today, it's that good.
Pacific was good but not in BOB league.
I don't have Apple TV and will wait for honest reviews before deciding to subscribe just to watch it. I hope it's not CGI heavy.

Gutted to see this is on Apple.

I've been looking forward to it's release since I saw what they were up to at Dalton Barracks last time I was there well over 2 years ago. The area for the film crew et al was massive.

Pretty standard for a large TV show these days. The Pacific cost only a bit less than that in 2010 dollars.

Will it emerge as a DVD Box Set at some time do you think?

If you have a VPN, then BOB and The Pacific are available on Netflix Spain.

Just subscribe for a month then, if the program is good it will be well worth the months fee (and you can also check all the other stuff on there too).

Yeah, honestly I've said this before but Apple has some of the best shows out right now, it's well worth the cost of a month and then seeing what you can get through. Depending what you're into you'll find something else to that's well worth a watch for the cost of a month.

I have an Apple card. They regularly give free access to TV and Music. Got an offer and signed up for 3 months free today so I can watch this and series 3 of Slow Horses.
