I’ve done a search, but can’t find a general “What’s on television” thread, could be that no one thinks there is a need for one.

Just seems strange, that most other platforms, Apple TV/Netflix/Amazon have one, but no general TV thread. Every time something is on television a new thread is started, which may see a couple of comments and die. Would it not be better to have them all in one place.

This was prompted, by a couple of things I watched recently, worthy of a mention, but IMO, not a new thread.

‘The Gold’ BBC; Drama series, inspired by true events surrounding the 1983 Brink's-Mat robbery. Knew about it, but surprised at the outcome.

‘Stonehouse’ ITVx life and times of disgraced Labour politician John Stonehouse, fairly amusing if a little flawed.

‘A Spy among Friends’ITVx,defection of KGB double agent Kim Philby, all good until the last episode.

I know these are all of a similar genre, found from recommendations on IMDb.

Could we not have our own general TV thread, what to watch or avoid.

I'm not watching it, but I'm fairly sure it's on C4.

What did the white 1 series BMW do to create the huge mist/vapour/dust to fool the pursuing Volvo police car.

Really enjoyed Irvine Welsh's 'Crime'. Shades of Lumet's 'The Offence', a hard watch but compelling.

I had the same idea for this thread but never got around to starting it and forgot about it , so I will occasionally post good and bad tv stuff I saw or switched off .

Last night CH4 repeated all 3 parts of Murder in the Alps documentary, a bizarre story of 4 people shot by a lone gunman , with so many different angles to it . The French investigation was deeply flawed and they still have no idea whether the English with Iraqi origins family or the lone Frenchman were the intended target with the others murdered as witnesses .

I'm also enjoying Lost car rescue , a bunch of Canadians who scour the countryside for abandoned cars to buy and sell on , including a woman in a light plane .

Stuff I'm not enjoying , Supercar showroom ,there's a thread on it ,it's rubbish . The bosses daughter in this I'm sure is actually a comedian brought in for laughs .
Never thought I would say this but there are too many car progs on tv !

Heads up: Retro Electro Workshop.
S1: 18th July
Channel: Yesterday @ 9pm.

I’ll give it a go.
A new series, but looks a bit different... first episode features Atari.
( Seen a C5 too.... must be a later episode).

Greig Wallace , the gurning green grocer who judges Masterchefs confused has a series of 3 day weekends in foreign cities .
Last week he ruined Rome and last night Venice , I only watched because Italy but after 1/2 of it I lost interest and barely payed attention to it .
Can you tell I'm not his biggest fan ?

I won't be watching when he is in Paris , Amsterdam or wherever .

That's good news for Only Connect return , completely baffling questions but a compelling watch .

Didn't know Amol had taken over the UC seat .

Tonight from 9-11 , I watched 2 resto mod US shows ,Beaching rides ,spell change to avoid the swear box and RMD garage .
The first is a rename of Kindig customs ,why ? don't know.
Made a C1 Corvette with major body mods from scratch to sell about 10 examples from moulds they took from the "prototype" .Amazing work .
Got bored in the second show ,just another resto mod on a 58 Impala.
I said in another thread ,there is just too many car progs on tv now and D-Max are plugging yet another new one with some bloke modding supercars for the stars ,same thing ,different state .

I'm just quite broken by everything .frown

Watched the final episode of Lost car rescue series 1 this morning ,turns out series 2 starts next Sunday too .
I'd be surprised if this isn't fake ,do they really spot old wrecks from a light plane or is the pretty pilot woman just there to even up the numbers with men doing all the other stuff .

And series 6 of Young Sheldon started tonight ,had more chuckles than I thought it would ,I find Missy is the best character .
