Couldn't see another thread, just say the trailer pop up between YouTube videos, due in June.

Gave me Goosebumps, can be all cynical about it but I am glad its been made, it looks pretty good, seems to be drawing more heavily on the first three films if the trailer is anything to go by.

Its 41 years since I saw the first one at the now long gone Davenport Cinema in Stockport aged 11. Wasn't sure what it was all about before we went in, came out dumbfounded, the melting faces, the ghosts, the sheer pace of it.

We still watch them when they pop up, even like the Crystal Skull so really interested and excited to see this new one.

What are your thoughts ?

Have they fixed it for 2023? The other films were inspired by lucas and spielbergs love of old hollywood seriels.
So lots of racist stereotype simple natives and quests for golden treasure while smashing up anything a real archeologist would be interested in.
Reality is speilberg and lucas are 2 wkers that mostly seem to have sat home watching the tv to get their world view and it got them fabulously rich.
Anyone that has done anything for real makes pretty dull stuff for some reason.

Hope it's better than the last one because that was dreadful.

there seem to have been a few whinges about the (seeming) equal billing of others with Indy - but I have to say the trailer worked for me and colour me interested

Username not checking out there…

It’s a daft adventure film, not Time Team.

Are we allowed to still enjoy anything or is it all racist
nowadays ?

It is entirely possible to have a daft adventure film, that is highly enjoyable, without racism.

After the utter garbage that was Indy 4 I won't be going anywhere near this.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, do a youtube search for "South Park Indiana Jones" as it perfectly represents my feelings. NSFW or the easily offended mind.

I have a bad feeling about this. Plus some of the WTF plot speculation looks like it could be true.

Indeed, can’t say I had noticed masses of racism in any of the films ?

Which ones are still acceptable to watch ?

Doesn't take much to offend the Scots nowadays, eh?

I've got to say the same. Okay they had a Welshman playing an Egyptian, but they called that 'acting' in the 80s and not cultural appropriation.

The films featured lots of different ethnicities, races and 'exotic' locations, but I don't recall any prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism towards any one character or group based on that. Yes some of the 'baddies' had brown skin, but they weren’t bad because of that, they were just baddies. Mostly though it was the Nazis in the firing line.

Does he have to overcome a series of lethal booby traps in order to turn this up?

While the 4th one was a bit less good I think the main gripe was the aliens. Indi films are a little comfort blanket for the religious types that want the bible and various holy knick knacks to be real.
I bet whole congregations went along and watched with a smug look on their faces.
I reckon speilbergo and lucas got fed up with all of this and made a film with spaceships and aliens lol.
Cos the world had degenerated somewhat over the last 7-8 years I expect this one to be back with some claptrap religious element.

For the definitive Crystal Skull review all you need is Mr Plinkett:

I’m looking forward to 5, but am also nervous after 4…
