I am surprised that nobody has started a thread on “Funny Woman” on Sky. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it is an absolute joy. Mrs Wombat and I ended up watching all six episodes last night. The way it evokes the 1960s is great, as is the music and of course the writing and acting. Highly recommended, particularly for those of a “certain age” (like us!)
Binge watched all six episodes on Thursday evening. Thought it was very good. Better than some offerings of late. Genuine laugh during the first part of Ep2. Thought there were some era errors but I put this down to younger script writers. Thought I recognised Gemma, she was the hot girl in Quantum of Solace that ended up oiled.

I really don't think Spike Milligan would have agreed to appear on the show, however. Not his tasse de the whatsoever.
I think that was a nod to Curry And Chips.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curry_and_Chips

Wee Gemma Arterton story for you. When I went to get my daughter’s birth certificate registered in 2009 at Chelsea reg offices, I parked in a small car park off the Kings Road. As I was pulling into the parking space, Gemma walked in front of my car. She was so beautiful I was temporarily frozen and damn near ran her over.
I used to see lots of lovely women in London but Gemma was at an utterly different level. The only one I’ve ever seen who came close was when Julia Roberts smiled at me when she was filming in Dublin (?1993). It was like a million lumen light being switched before my eyes, gorgeous.
Sorry, thread derailment.
