Not actually seen it yet but planning to in the coming days. Looks very good, small but good cast.

Went last night.

It was great. Some outstanding performances and some real laugh out loud moments even though the subject matter not exactly 'comedy gold'

Wont be everyone's cup of tea and it is very easy with these kind of films to just wait until you can watch at home as its not filled with special effects etc. But if no one goes to the cinema to watch then these kind of films wont get made unless they get a decent return.

Defo go and see it.

I saw this last night too; it was exactly the film I was in the mood for. Funny, contemplative, touching and mystical but quite bleak in places. Excellent performances all round and great to see Farrell and Gleeson reunited.

Took the wife to see this last night, we'd seen the 2 main Actors on the Graham Norton Show a few weeks back and listening to them describe the film and what it was about made our decision for us. It's a film that has some good laughing moments for the audience, it's not a laugh a minute film by any means. Some real thought has gone into the script and how it's delivered by the cast. Again as others have said some of the subject matter is a little dark, if you want to spend a couple of hours watching something that doesn't have high speed chases and loads of special effects, this is probably worth seeing. All the cast return some fantastic performances especially 'Dominic'. Think it's getting nominated for best film at the next Oscars. Wife and I both enjoyed it immensely and it certainly makes you think. Go and see it at the cinema, Film4 who made it deserve some of the outlay back.

The trailer made it look a lot funnier that I thought it was. I was expecting a bit more Father Ted but it turned out to be very bleak.

Like has been said, brilliant performances all round. Especially the miniature donkey!

Well I was the only one who laughed out loud at the church confession scene.

Still not quite sure what to make of the scary old lady, especially at the end?

Wonderful . Looked utterly stunning , terrific script (in turn deeply moving , tragic , baffling and hilarious) and Oscar standard performances. My film of the year.

She is the titular banshee - a portent of death.

I saw this last night and I’m still not sure about it. It is unremittingly bleak in places with some humour thrown in as well. Not sure I ever want to see it again. The dog & the donkey are both lovely.

Saw this today and although I enjoyed it, both for the great acting and the scenery, at the end I kind of went WTF.

I missed this the first time around in October/November but it was on at the local Odeon just for tonight so I went along. Very funny in parts, Barry Keoghan was great as Dominic. It's so bleak and dark at the same time though, I'd say more than 3 Billboards. I did like it, to me the ending sort of leaves it open, a bit like seeing 3 Billboards the first time, I'm still processing it.

Watched this online over the weekend - some time after the cinema showings so apologies for dragging up this thread from the grave.

And it was DARK! Dark dark dark dark. Yes the confessional scene was funny; yes the milk waggon scene made me smile but the rest of it ... dammit, it was bleak! I almost shed a tear when Jenny died. Not at all like In Bruges, which is what I was expecting.

Yes, Dominic was excellent. Best actor in the thing by a country mile, and the competition was strong.

Don't pretend to understand what it was about, most of the characters were brutish, inbred and thick, sometimes all three, but I daresay I'm obviously missing the allegorical subtext and cultural/religious nuances.
