Can't find any other thread on it so thought I'd post here, anyone caught the new series which started last week?

Lower Decks has been some of the best Trek recently with the last season and this one is off to a great start, Ep1 especially with so many callbacks to a certain old series.

Season 4 is exclusively paramount+ in the UK, it seems. Shame really.

It's all on P+ now, they took the old seasons off as well. Which is annoying as they binned off Prodigy after declaring themselves the home of trek......

Season 1 and 2 are still included with Prime, Season 3 is where they've fudged it to make you pay for it. Season 4 not on prime at all frown

Oh maybe it was the US where they removed it then?

I'm watching season 3 at the moment. I watched the first two episodes of season 1 about a year ago and did not like it at all. I found the characters all really annoying for some reason, and the Cerritos a hideous design.

Last month I decided to give it another chance based on positive comments made in another thread and I was hooked after another couple of episodes. Really enjoying it now and even the Cerritos doesn't look so bad.

Is this the only thread we have on LD? Oh well...

Watched the first two eps of season 5 and it's as good as ever. Some great lol moments and some really deep cuts.

I think that LD suffers from being a 'toon ("a cartoon? Oh, it's just for kids") rather than a love letter to Star Trek. Truth be told the fact that it's ST is, I suspect, another strike against - Sci-Fi is still viewed with suspicion/as nerdish by many

I think it suffers far more from the fact that it's on Paramount+ and there's very little else left on Paramount+ which warrants maintaining a subscription for on a rolling basis. I'll get round to watching it when the next mega cheap deal black friday deal comes round (maybe) or when Strange New Worlds comes back (most likely).

If it were still on Amazon Prime then I'd still be watching it as it releases each week.
