Watching the YouTube channel of this.

How can so many people be so devoid of thought and common sense?

Seems to wreck a lot of car engines and the locals stand and video the sport. I think massive warning signs need to be erected at each side, this will not however make the slightest difference to the idiot % who know better!

I wanted to post about this but didn’t bother as the second you post a YouTube link the thread gets shut

Been watching for a year or so, truly fascinating, but I don’t think I could be there and watch a family man wreck his car, even if he was a bit of a

There are. Including depth gauges. 90% of drivers take that advice and don't try car floating, the gibbons that ignore it are fair game for being lampooned.

the amount of people in ordinary cars that might actually make it if they simply drove slowly yet instead floor it with the water coming ovet the bonnet.
And people who think they can make it when there’s already one car floating around and another conked out on the offramp/jetty

One I watched this morning on tiktok even showed a big road closed sign and the water higher than usual (potentially from yesterday).

People still went through.

Mental.

I’m in to off-roading, the first time I experienced a deeper than expected puddle it does sharpen the old sense so I can certainly see people’s flight reaction kicking in

But yes, slow and steady does seem the best method, although I’d still be worried about long term damage to wiring etc if it gets inside the cabin.

I saw a vid with the two lorries yesterday, I’d imagine two people lost their jobs there and two more businesses will now be struggling, doesn’t make pleasant viewing always

there’s a video of a drowned landy and the local old codger trundles through slowly with his fiesta sized car no bother.

I went through it slowly three weeks back when the level was quite low. It was, however, sheet ice either side!

That was fun.

P.S. You know you're getting old when instead of going looking for fords you get a bit anxious at the thought hehe

It used to be my optional commute 20 years ago as it cuts out Ollerton. Seems much deeper than I always remember even in winter.

The thing is, people will just drive where technology tells them. Reminds me of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOW_kPzY_JY

Apart from Centre Parcs, Rufford Park and a few nice properties there is nothing there so the bystander's must travel in for the entertainment.

Did anyone see the Mini? It became a boat at one point just floating its way across, the driver was still revving the engine biggrin I was rooting for the little thing, then the front wheels touched down and he drove off, brilliant!

On top of the stupidity, I reckon it must be insurance scams.... You have a car with some expensive mechanical issue, so go through the ford to get it easily written off.

seen a couple of them head towards the river instead of staying on the road lol

half of those that break down would have made it if they creep through at walking speed

Yep, watched a lot of it on Ewetube.. its entertaining for a while, but equally a bit weird. Greenlaners tanking it through in jacked up discos, repeatedly, like a sport to get the biggest splash. Then the daft sods who genuinely think they can get through but end up conked out with all the by standers laughing and cheering.

People camped out at each end trying to get the best angle, there's a few regular uploaded now. I don't really get it.

But then look at big jet TV. Maybe there will be a big wet TV featuring yokel ruffordians.. but surprised Police haven't started to patrol and tell people to calm down a bit. Maybe it will take an accident.

Always wondered if the 4x4 towing people out charge a fee or do it because they get a bit of a buzz, or both.
