Just watched ep1 and enjoyed, it does what is says on the tin but nothing wrong with that

Still managed to test a Lambo although a worrying incident with one of the other vehicles tested

Just looked on Disco+ and only series 28 available. No sign of the latest one

I watched it on Discovery + yesterday, so it is on there. I'm not especially into EV's, so I'm not sure I will bother again though.

You have to search for 'fifth gear recharged', does not find it if you search for fifth gear, which is a bit stupid

Posting this as a reminder to myself...
Episodes will air weekly on Discovery+ from November 25 in the UK and from December 2 on UKTV network Quest.
I don't have D+ but have set Quest up to record it.

I saw the trailer for this. It kind of makes sense. I like the presenters bar the little squeal pig. I just found myself wondering how quickly they're going to run out of EVs to test?

Just thought I'd mention that, as the OP alluded to, as well as being on the Discovery+ subscription service, this will air on Quest from Thurs 2 Dec at 9pm.

Well I actually really enjoyed that. Just watched the first episode. Refreshing to watch a car show about cars presented by people that know a bit about cars.

It looks as if you can watch episodes for free on demand via the Discovery+ once they have aired on Quest. You just get early access if you are a subscriber. Episode 1 now seems to be freely available.

I thought it was very dull but only caught the last half.

Lots of spouting facts and figures, like 1970s Top Gear, probably because there is just nothing to really say about an electric motor, just Plato saying "it's a nice piece of kit". It seemed it all boiled down to they all accelerate quickly and the top speed is "all you need".

It's more like the gadget show now, the old guard versus the tech-minded and the boring sums to persuade people they're just what you need.

I have to accept that I am no longer the target audience, however and will give it a swerve.

I watched it last night on Quest and enjoyed it. Glad to see a programme about cars on tv. Some really interesting stuff at the Munich motor show, agree with JP about the Renault 5.

Second episode was pretty good even if JdV was his normal irritating self. Interesting 964 converted to electricity now with 500 bhp over the usual 250.

What can you say?

What a ghastly pre-scripted propaganda broadcast for EV’s. Rory playing the clued up enthusiastic younger generation who ‘gets’ EV’s and proves to older dinosaur Plato how great they are. Plato seeing the light and describing them as ‘good piece of kit’. ‘Piece of st’ would be more accurate. ‘Range 192 miles’, Plato, ‘That’s awright!’ Not for me it isn’t. Then producing a load of distorted statistics to prove that EV’s are better value. Pathetic PC sellout. Do you think Clarkson for all of his faults would have spouted that nonsense for the cameras?

Lamborghini in there to bring in the viewers, though I detest VBH for taking her thirty pieces of silver to encourage the compensation crowd to attack Mercedes.

Some nice looking cars at the Munich Show, particularly the Audi and the R5. Useless to much of the potential market, but nicely styled.

I will never but never watch that disingenuous rubbish again.

A classic car with its engine removed is like a bloke with his tackle cut off. Not a bloke, in other words. A 964 with an electric motor is not a 964, more like a kids toy. Might as well install pedals.
