I think this has been done before, the crocs were tied down to make it "safer". Would not want that job. Bonkers.

I have a documentary on this.

You can see the crocodiles learning this, and turning to bite him rather than reacting to him as the attempts continue.

One of my favourite bonds.

Balls of Steel.

I was under the impression that the farm owner was called "Kananga", which is where the baddie from the film got his name, rather than "Katanga" as in the post linked at the start.

Yep.

"Katanga" was Delbert Wilkins (he of the Brixton Broadcasting Corporation) catch phrase - "Katanga my friends!"

Crucial.

I watched that documentary on the 50th anniversary box set. Until then I had always assumed they were animatronic, or operated by puppeteers under the water.

As someone already said, mental.

Weren't they alligators?

A decent sized salty would have got him and the camera crew as well.

The actual country the stunt was filmed in was Jamaica, I can remember visiting it in somewhere around 1971 or 1972 with my folks when we went on holiday, somewhere I have some pictures of baby crocodiles in a bucket which we could handle.

The film always reminds me of Jamaica especially as one minute its in America and the next shot its Jamaica.
