If you enjoy this sort of thing, have a look at Cruising The Cut. Very professionally done.

Met the Foxes twice the other week on the Weaver near Winsford. They put a hell of a lot of effort into the filming and keeping the boat clean! https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCkaFsF378jNuL2xmZMH...

Must be fairly unpleasant in Winter if you live on the boat all year round.
It's about time someone invented automatic locks as well.
After 3 or 4 of those on a trip I'd be getting cross.
He wasn't happy when he fell in was he?
Could be a bit dangerous if the boat moved towards you and pinned you to the wall.
Otherwise a great watch, with a beer in hand.
Much better than watching Tim and Pru on Great Canal Journeys.
Timmy comes across as a bit of an ass on that quite a lot.

Many people have died in the UK canals.
The combination of 30 tons of boat, 60,000 gallons of water, heavy equipment and 10+ foot drops onto stone/concrete make it somewhat hazardous for the unwary. Fences and railings have often proved to be a hindrance / hazard in themselves.
We are encouraged (by CaRT) to wear life jackets, but to be honest, you can stand up in the narrow canals if you fall in. Its what you hit your head on as you fall in that counts, or if you get crushed between boat and bank.

I used to quite fancy living on a canal boat when I was a student.
Very nearly bought a boat (£12k as I recall).
Watching this programme has convinced me that I was right not to bother.
It looks like hard work, so fun in the short term over summer for a holiday maybe, but as a life choice, pretty tough.

I've only done a week at the time on the Broads and always enjoy it but I went 3 weeks ago and it was freezing at night in my cabin.
Put me off the idea of living on one when I can't afford renting a flat anymore. How do you get your clothes dry?
Watched his programme the other day. I presume they are all on iPlayer as I really enjoyed it.
