For anyone who's interested (or of a certain age) Tim Hunkin's Secret Life of Components is on You Tube and he's remastered (not that I could tell) the Secret Life of Machines series and added a few minutes of reminiscing at the end of each one.

I've watched the Secret Life of the Central Heating System, The Fridge and The Lift. At the end Hunkin reflects on what has changed or not changed about the technology since he filmed them 34 years ago. It's really quite poignant.
