True crime. 1/10.

A husband is believed to have stabbed his wife and next-door neighbour in Birmingham.

Didn’t rate it highly then?! hehe

Thought it looked pretty promising myself...

They must have been learning as they went along.

Looks good, but the question on everyone's lips is will the BBC bd string quartet
be doing the atmospheric but overloud music ?

The forensic side is fairly pedestrian, can there be many people familiar with TV crime drama unaware of
the basics of crime scene etiquette, fingerprints and blood spatter?

More interesting is the suspect, realising he's fked, and in direct opposition to his matter-of-fact
and calm 999 call, goes down the "I'm a drug fiend and I can't remember killing two women" route.

I find stuff like this fascinating.

Similar to a good 24 Hours In Police Custody, it’s really interesting to see how they piece together a defence to ward off potential directions of travel for the lawyers to go down.

He was aware he was thinking of heading next door as he told the original call handler to come quickly.

Having his phone history was illuminating.

Loved the fact his phone history was something like:

murder
divorce
murder
divorce
murder
divorce
murder
divorce
autotrader
murder
divorce
murder
divorce
murder
divorce
murder
divorce

Haha I said that to the other half!

‘I’m gonna divorce her arse’
‘How can I catch her illicit behaviour on spy cameras’
‘Oh look at this clean, low mileage Sierra at 4Star Classics’
‘God I’m going to divorce her so good’

Any theories on why the neighbour was killed?

I assumed he thought he'd do his landlord (may as well), and only she was in, so "she will do"?

Perceived her as a friend of his wife who must have known about the affair and didn't tell him?

He was asked why, if he had a gripe with the landlord why did he kill the landlord's innocent wife, he couldn't answer.

I would wager it's easier, and less of a sin, to kill a woman, cultural misogyny in action.

He suspected the neighbours husband was having an affair with his wife, so thought he would kill his wife as revenge maybe?

I've recorded this but not watched it yet. It's interesting as a case to me, as I can see the 2 houses and back gardens of the people involved from my kitchen window... First I knew of it is when I had a knock on the door and it was a detective who asked me if I'd seen or heard anything suspicious that morning, as there had been an incident. My wife came back later and said she'd had to go the long way round as the street was cordoned off. When details started to emerge it was crazy to think this had all happened just down the road... The house is still boarded up and their cars are still on the drive. One of them has a broken window from that day and still has police tape on it. It will be interesting to find out more about what happened and why.

I watched the programme, and wondered what the car under the cover was on the neighbours drive. As there seemed to be at least one welder in the garage I wondered if it might be something interesting.

As for the rest of it, it was interesting enough but not really my kind of thing.

Wasn’t just me then... hehe

I assumed it was abandoned, then when we saw the welder, I went, oooo, might be interesting!
