This Holmes and Watson homage, set in Vienna at the turn of the century was fairly good and easy watch last night. Some corny dialogue at times, but well acted by the main players against an unusual backdrop, with some gratuitous boobage for titillation.
It's not up to Sherlock standards, but I'll be sticking with it.

I enjoyed that as well, despite the various clichéd bits. I don't usually watch stuff set in that sort of period so I didn't think I'd stick with it.

We thought that it was easily the best drama on BBC since Bodyguard.

An interesting take on the psychological profiler genre.

Some nice shots of Vienna, as well.

is this based on the book by Frank Tallis?

I must admit I didn't quite catch the bullet made out of meat and bone thing, what would that have accomplished over a normal bullet ?

Also was ECT around pre WW 1 ?

The point was that when the autopsy was done, they reached into the bullet hole with the long forceps and there was no bullet there. That was because it had done the damage, but disintegrated in the process. A normal bullet would have been found.

According to Wiki, the use of ECT dates back to the early 19th century

IIRC, there was a credit to him at the beginning

Watched it last night & thought it better than other recent Beeb offerings
Nice setting & promising story

Bump

I'm surprised this hasn't garnered more viewing interest on here.

Based on the Frank Tallis books, I'm just disappointed that last nights' was the last in this series (I hope there is more).

Whilst it may be a copy of Sherlock, the setting, 'crimes' and thread running through the series (and books) is excellent.

Unlike the War of the World's debacle and His Dark Materials which also gets a 'meh' - this is thoroughly entertaining and great tv spread over 90 mins.

I finally caught up with the last of these, a very good series and not my usual kind of thing at all. Some nice interaction between the two main characters.

Very good watch. Some of it a little cheesy, but the main 2 characters are interesting and engaging to watch.

Just noticed Series 3 starts on BBC2 tonight at 9pm. I assume all episodes will be available on iPlayer thereafter.

I've set my recorder for it, but I haven't watched the second series yet. I might even have deleted it just to free some space up.

1st episode a tad far fetched even for VB, but on a happy note,
as I'd hoped, a bit of love interest for the lonely Inspector, plus she has a young daughter and if
my memory serves his backstory reveals his young daughter had died.
