I suspect this is going to be a stupid question but I have just started watching this show.... At the end they seem to show old footage of the actual family this is based upon. Now, is that genuine....... Or TV history............

It's genuine - it's as filmed by the real Adam [F] Goldberg during his younger years.

It's kind of the whole premise of the programme hehe

I do enjoy it. How can Barry turn out to be a doctor?!

Yes its real.

Lots of the real people end up acting in the in the show (obviously not as there younger self). They get outed in the credits.

It's a great show. I do like it when people from the stories make cameo appearances.

Have been watching this from the start but missed episode 1 of the new series. Have managed to record from episode 2 onwards but cannot find episode 1 of the new series anywhere. Any thoughts??

I have tried from the Sky planner and online on all 4 but these only start at episode 2

IIRC, the only variance was adding the sister so as to have more balance in the programme versus the reality from the 80s! laugh

That's great stuff to hear. Makes it a lot funnier too.

I did see a clip the other day with a lady claiming to be the mother who read out part of her "Guilt Letter" to Adam........ I guess she really IS the mother then and she really did write those letters.

Or...those parts are scripted too and added on to increase the authenticity.

There are plenty of video sequences showing the storyline's from back in the 80's (with what is obviously younger versions of the real family). Obviously the whole series isn't a biopic, but the real Goldberg's are clearly fruitloops and Adam has tapped into that.

She's a female version of his older brother, rather than a completely invented character.

Did they change the actress playing Adam's girlfriend? Or did he get a new one?

It was good but it's struggling now. They've already had to pull Erica out of college to keep her at home as the storylines were poor without her & now Barry is due to go so they'll need to invent something to keep him around. They should cull it & leave on a semi high.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE...highlander club.

I spotted him as the Kurgan when he first appeared as a teacher.
