Caught this recently, interesting, but my worry is it could end up being another Lost.

Looking at the sky guide it does indeed sound like another twist on Lost. I'm gonna give it a go for a couple of eps.

Trouble is, since Lost, it seems producers are quite happy to hook you in with an interesting idea and then just churn out any old tosh once you're watching with no idea how to provide any sort of ending or resolution. Series recommissioning is all that matters to them.

Had a look at the first ep last night. It was an interesting setup. I was entertained enough to keep watching, not like that Godawful Martin Clunes garbage a few weeks ago where one ep was quite enough for one lifetime.

I wasn't keen on how quickly they got into the meat of the first ep however, it seemed like they were racing throuh the setup rather than taking their time over it, which is a bit worrying because I liked the setup (even though it's Avengers Endgame copy and pasted).

It looks like the content of each ep will be about different people from the same flight and following their particular story to get a full season out of it. Early Edition had a similar focus on one story each ep a lot of years ago and I liked that before it was cancelled, this kinda has a similar feel: interesting premise followed by a proper story each ep. I am of course extrapolating wildly on the basis of one ep watched at this moment in time.

I've been burned enough by high concept TV shows that either a) set up a major cliffhanger then get cancelled, or b) become successful, keep getting renewed and stretch the concept out well beyond its useful life.

Giving this a miss, I'd be tempted if they said from the start that it's only going to be one series.

At least you don’t have to wait a week for each episode.

Interesting idea in the Pilot episode last night. It is very lost-like though.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s going nowhere fast just like Lost. Watched 5 episodes and not sure I’ll bother with the rest.

I haven't seen Lost but have enjoyed the first 2 episodes of this so far. Easy viewing. There have been a few naff moments already and I suspect more to come but overall I like it. Some bits are just too predictable.

I’m struggling with this. I can’t get past the fact there is pretty much zero background noise in every scene. When they were on the plane, apart from a brief spell of turbulence, there was no engine noise at all. Same when they are in a car. It’s driving me mad...

2 left - actually really enjoyed it.

It’s not complex but moves at decent pace - interesting arc.

I started watching this with the Mrs as well.

Has vibes of Lost but also a slightly different feeling too.

Will watch a few more episodes and see what happens.

As a family we are watching both - binge-watched the first 4 eps of Departure then watching an ep per night of Manifest; both are keeping us glued to the TV

Been watching this and enjoying it, we haven't seen lost so that could be helpful! Although with 2 episodes left I've got a feeling we aren't going to find out much more, then have to wait for series 2 by which time i will have forgotten/lost interest frown

My wife and I are watching this, it's OK with an interesting story and does seem to be going well. But the acting is a bit naff at times and there are times when I just can't be bothered with it too much.
We'll see it to the end of the season and see how it goes, we're only up to Episode 8, so maybe it picks up.

We haven't got to the end of the series yet, nearly there though. I like this review, sounds like we're not gonna get a satisfying ending lol.

It’s definitely worth a watch.

It must be renewed.

It has. In April 2019, NBC renewed the series for a second season.
