How can you have a thread about a series and not have spoilers?

The general PH rule is no spoilers until after the U.K. showing.

Not seen any of the last series, or the second half of the series before that.

But from the look of the trailer, the new story looks good, I'll be tuning in.

I have been rewatching the strain on box sets, up to S2E7, it's much better than TWD but it had a finite shelflife of course.

If you haven't already try Van Helsing for a post-apocalyptic fix; good quality, story actually moves and is often much nastier than TWD. Z Nation is frequently better than expected too.

I have S9E1 of TWD lined up but won't be touching it until the feedback here tells me it isn't utter time wasting dross.

I like the 'fresh start' feeling.

Not loving the Paddy Power adverts though

Assuming zombies like to chew on brains, guess who gets to survive longest in a zombie apocalypse?

Yeah poor old Redshrt MacGuffin didn’t put up much of a fight whereas a dozen Walkers didn’t managed to get a single bite on King Hogroast.

But why did Ken get bitten in the first place?

They saw some walkers, and rushed around hitching up the horses to the wagon and loading the dugout canoe (why the fk do they want a fking dugout canoe?!) and the plough into the wagon (why the fk do they want a 200 year old uncovered wagon?!) in order to run away, but when Ken got bitten, they just killed all the walkers in about fifteen seconds!

Either leave the wagon and all the American Pickers st on the back of it, run away and come back later, or just kill all the walkers, which obviously wasn't difficult, and would have avoided Ken getting bitten.

Oh, hang on... I know why they did what they did... Because Rick was there, and he's an absolute fking spanner.

Indeed. Massive heavy thing over a glass floor.... I see Mr Mullet is still as irritating as always.

So far it's still better than S8 but the mutiny appears to be building.

Good opening episode. Enjoyed the fresh start/new direction. Fingers crossed it continues to that standard.

Seems to me from this episode foreshadowing and the previews of season 9 that there is soon going to be divide and discontent among our original crew. I.e. coming from Daryl and Maggie mostly. Seems as if Ricks popularity is weining fast.

Also did any one else notice that the subtitle to season 9 is entitled; Rick Grimes final episodes.

All the original characters just like on Fear the Walking Dead are jumping ship.

Did you see how fast the original cast left FTWD? They had to rewrite the episodes to accomodate actors leaving. To me this tells us that the actors dont think the show is becoming stale and repetitive and rightly so they dont want to become typecast and tied down to one popular show their entire career.

Im not so sure how well TWD will do with out Rick.

They wanted the old wagon and its pieces so their black smiths had a template to go onto create more.
