A What's that Film Thread?
Discussion
Wondering if we could have a what's that film thread, where we can find out films by obscure recollections of them.
Some could be easily solved, other I imagine will be a lot more difficult to solve.
I have two that have been on my mind for many years but have never found out what they are:
Two blokes in a 911 Targa in Germany and one climbs form the passenger seat into the drivers seat whilst its flying along the autobahn.
Must have been pre-1980 and probably on late BBC2 - No not Girl on a Motorcycle either.
Secondly, a kind of 60s spy adventure and there are two female villains, ending with one of them at sea with a bomb in her wig. WTF?
Once again must have been pre 1980 and on late on BBC2
Somebody must know.
Or have any of your own film frustrations

Good idea.
I’ve got a film in my head but can’t remember what it’s called.
Sounds wrong, but the scene I remember is a woman who’s kid is missing somehow traces it to an apartment where kid is in a room, but rooms are lined with sheets so they can be killed or whatever, also finds videos of others.
She calls police and then shoots the couple that are there.

Love this!
Hopefully the PH Collective can help.
All I remember about the film is that it was set in the 1980's, a repairman comes to fix the photocopier that is broken in this office, as he opens the toner flap, a blonde with big hair and attire not really in keeping with the businesslike surroundings, gives him a really smouldering look and after a few german sounding words, they start to have sex...
I think the film was about one and a half hours long however, I think I only managed to watch about two minutes of it.
It's really bothering me as I really want to know whether he fixed that Canon 46991J Colour Professional as it was a pretty sturdy machine (coped with 2 bodies on the glass along with a wet broom handle).
I really wish I had paid more attention to the title yesterday, but sadly I can't, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

OK, I've got one...B&W film noir, woman on a beach gets her ankle trapped between rocks and can't get free. Tide is coming in, someone goes for help. To take her mind off things she talks/recalls certain events which then become intertwined into this underlying event
Every time each recall ends, the scene goes back to the beach and the tide is higher each time. I think experiences she recalls appear to be separate but may be connected in a plot twist, but I just can't remember.
And that's all I've got...! Any ideas please?

Sorry, can't be helpful, but this is exactly what this thread is about and hopefully answers can be found. I’ve got a film in my head but can’t remember what it’s called.

A film I've been trying to recall for years.
A dour British B&W film, like Fallen Idol, that sort of period, all I can remember is that in the dénouement, in court, the woman accused...of whatever...gives a great speech on justice and what it is in the box, so much so that the she holds court for a period..it was on of those Brit films that used to be on, on dreary afternoons i the good old days.
Tried to remember the gist if that speech for yonks

Not a film as such, more a kids TV episode... from somewhere back in the early 80s?
It still haunts me for some reason 30 years later, I can remember it clearly but have no idea what it was called.
It was set in a dreary dystopian future(?) where school kids can't go outside due to perpetual rain. One of them is wrongly (or rightly) accused of misbehaving and locked in some kind of broom cupboard as punishment, during which time the sun comes out for a very rare and brief period which they end up missing completely. Perhaps the sunshine briefly shines through a crack into the dark cupboard, or I might have made that up in my head.
Ring any bells?
Cheers!

I didn't recognise it, but the description intrigued me, and a bit of googling showed you aren't the only person that remembers it!It still haunts me for some reason 30 years later, I can remember it clearly but have no idea what it was called.

Well it's not one of them, I guess I'll go to my grace not knowing.A question for film aficionados. JUst rewatched the Goonies, in the ship, they find the final clue, some writing on some boards above their heads, I am sure that I have seen a version where they read the words and then figure out to go through the boards, but in the version on TCM, they just say, 'it's Willy' and then smash through the boards, one can tell it's a sharp edit, does anyone else recall them reading the writing? Theatrical release maybe?
I have one I can never remember. I think its an 80' American comedy about a group of young misfits I think some have powers. One is a big blue guy that can freeze things but he needs to keep cold so they drive around in a ice cream truck (american one with sliding doors like DHL) and he sleeps in the fridge. Not a lot to go on but there can't be many films with a 7/8 foot tall blue guy in them.
