Like all other soaps, it has zero appeal as far as I'm concerned.

It's a cut above most soaps IMHO, don't mind it on when I'm cooking the tea. I don't watch any TV ones though.

I thoroughly enjoyed Loxfest. Contentious though it was.

I also think Mike Tucker will never retire while he is threatened with Brum.

My OH is a big Archers fan so we (the rest of the family) have to listen to it too. We had a discussion about the Eastenders style storylines and she admitted that she is getting a bit fed up with the direction they are now taking it. The Roy/Elizabeth storyline is pretty far fetched and it wont take much more for her to stop listening woohoo

I listen to the theme tune every night at 7 - then change stations for 15 minutes.

Some fantastic writing tonight I thought.

I laughed all the way through at Linda's casting. Genius.

David is an idiot.

Tonight was utterly brilliantly done. I've slowly listened less and less throughout the "Helen & Rob" storyline, as it was so well developed and acted I was beginning to find it uncomfortable to listen to at times. That level of insidious abuse developed as a storyline almost in real time is deeply unsettling I found. I didn't listen tonight until I saw some comments on Twitter, so I just listened on catch up. Glad I did, one of the best episodes I've heard in recent times.

Stopped listening when all the Rob/Helen stuff started, and then realised that I heartily detest all the characters apart from Lynda, Neil, Clarrie and Eddie.

I agree the Rob-Helen storyline was a bit too much at times, still I guess he got what he deserved. Did she kill him or has she just inflicted enough injury on him so that he becomes dependant upon her in the future, one can only hope.

Been cringing as this Rob-Helen thing has played out, 30 years ago my lovely friend Pauline was in a similar situation. It broke my heart watching her change from vibrant young woman to dead-eyed drudge in about 18 months. She finally got rid of the creep (no knives involved) and went to live in a horse drawn caravan with a bloke she really loved. Still together and housed normally and blissfully happy. A happy outcome.

I think the snideness of Rob has been done brilliantly because looking back that was what Paulines bloke was (joyfully I cannot remember his name at all, hoorah!) I can see him now though, snidey little git crushed her. If I had my time again knowing what I know now I'd have jumped in with both feet rather than just tentatively dipping my toe for a year.

At times the storyline had me trembling with anger.

I've listened to The Archers all my life on and off. My wife doesn't get it but this storyline and the Grundys being homeless got her listening.
