I never got to the end of it years ago and it's just popped up on Netflix, I love this show! After The Wire I'd say this is my favourite cops/crims show.

Loved this show; the Mackey/Dec. Wagenbach chemistry was inspired and the realism of the show was very atmospheric (although seemed a little comical when compared to something like Southland which I watched straight after this). Plus any TV show that has CCH Pounder in it is bound to be good smile

Great show. I watched it when it was on TV the first time. Surprised it doesn't seem to have been repeated before now.

Brilliant brilliant show, goes from strength to strength throughout each season, I love the grittiness of it and you have empathy for the characters.

I was gutted when it ended.

Absolutely epic show. If you didn't already know, the actor that plays the gay, black cop just murdered his wife...

Fantastic show. For me it just pips Breaking Bad.

Vic's awesome, Shane's off his tits & I want to take the blonde k9 cop out for a kebab smile

I loved this show.
I remember renting out the second or third series from blockbuster and me and the missus watched it from start to finish one Sunday. Didn't set out to, but we just had to keep watching.
No other series has gripped us like that.
If it's on Netflix now maybe it's time to revisit it. (After we finish breaking bad)

Similar to BB in some of its themes, better than The Wire and GoT as well.

Holy thread resurrection!

I've just finished this, averaged a series a week I think. If anyone hasn't watched this yet you really need to. A brilliant series!

I think out of all TV shows the ending here is superb and not sure if anything else has ended better. The last 2-3 episodes were brilliant television.

Really enjoyed Forest Whitaker and the episodes he was involved in too.

After my post in this thread last year I watched it from start to finish. I originally started watching it on channel 5 when it first started airing years a go, but I missed a few episodes and promised I'd watch it properly one day. It was worth the wait, it's a truly great program, the only television drama I've watched that can stand on the pantheon of truly amazing television alongside Breaking Bad. It's one of those things that is so good, I wish I'd never seen it, so I could watch it again for the first time.

I was binge watching this as a Netflix latecomer as well, but let it slide for other televisual priorities... just seen that one of the actors has been clobbered for murdering his wife.

I saw that yesterday, prison won't be a nice place for him I bet!
Regarding 'The Shield' get back in to it, it gets better as it goes on, possibly the best show for me ahead of BB, The Wire, GOT, Dexter etc

Agree with the above, absolutely brilliant show. Up there with the Sopranos for me! Walton Goggins performances in the final season in particular were sublime
