Anyone watched it?

I think he's one of the most under-rated UK comedians and have appreciated his stuff for a good number of years now, but he's never made it into the real big-time. Perhaps his style is a bit of an aquired taste, but it's quite clever and well thought out. Worth a look.

I've watched the first two and enjoyed them a lot. Last weeks Sir Alan Sugar exposee was very well done.

Tricky, without doing him a dis-service.

A funnier, less militant, Mark Thomas perhaps?

Not seen any of the latest series but if it's anything like his previous work, "Are You Dave Gorman?" especially, it requires a certain understanding of statistics and probability, but used in a comedic setting.
The maths bit is probably what makes it meaningless to a lot of people who think Frankie Boyle saying "fk" a lot is funny.

Good description. Half way between Bill Bailey and Mark Thomas (the latter being an obtuse of the highest order by the way)

Missed this weeks but really enjoyed last weeks show.

First discovered him on his Googlewhack Adventure show. Find him funny without being irritating.

I've watched both, and I'm liking it a lot so far smile . This one is no so much to do with statistics, more about picking up on details with things.

Are you DG? and Google-whacking are amongst the funniest shows i've seen. Is there a catch up option for these?

http://video.uktv.co.uk/dave/dave-gorman-modern-li... Second episode is here and repeated on Saturday night, Dave player must be 7 day catchup, so the 1st episode is gone. But as it is on Dave if you wait long enough there will be a repeat of the series wink .

It's on TV on Tuesdays at 10pm.

I think its good, but I think he'll have to change his format of Powerpoint Presentation style if we wants to carry on being successful.

Are you Dave Gorman? was brilliant because of its novelty, Googlewhack was good as it was over a long period of time and it helped to show what he actually did to get where he needed to. This one, marginal.

Those were both brilliant. I first heard about him when a friend took me a long to one of his shows and have been a fan ever since.

I wasn't too impressed with his more recent stuff (the last year or so?) and approached this new series with some trepidation, but I think (so far) he's definitely back on form.

I thought the part about him being booked to be a surprise guest on his own show, as his own lookalike was brilliant.

Thanks. I should have been clearer. I meant the show. I have seen Gorman's stuff when he was on the main channels, meeting people with the same name was ok, the google thing was blah/crap.
I recall a horoscope one, which held my interest. He won't set the world alight but his stuff is an easy going entertainment sort of thing.
I think Mark Thomas is ace, a successor to Bill Hicks.

Gotta say I'm disappointed by this series. I've not seen him as a stand up, maybe he's better at that. But I find 'modern life' is really tedious and strung out. The part with sending money in the post was quite interesting, but after a couple of minutes, I've got the jist of what hes saying, yet 15mins later he's STILL going on and on about it. Totally bored now, move on.

Seems to be the same with all the subjects he covers, i.e. at the moment, jesus, being a jew, been banging on about it for ages now, its getting very boring. Would rather see him cover lots of different subjects for just a minute or so each.

p.s. Finish powerball, what's that? just a red smarty innit?! -

There you go, I just saved you 20 mins of your life, on that episode alone.

Yes he does somewhat drag out each aspect.

But I did laugh at the Make-Up advert that asked 99 people, or as he put it, didn't even adhere to the rigorous standards of family fortunes......
