I am of an age where my love of science was fostered during my formative years by the televised Apollo program and Star Trek.

Trek abounds in various incarnations and whilst none of them have gripped me in the same way as the original, I am looking forwards to taking in the new film.

For anyone who shares a love for the original stuff, check this out...... http://vimeo.com/66784863
Star Trek Continues. They have made a few shorts and a full length 'new episode' basically the first episode of series 4.

It's wonderfully in tune with it's time, the new faces take a bit of getting used to, but the action, effects and mannerisms are spot on. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Hopefully this will remain in this forum and not get moved to the TV/film thingy as it is web based only and science nerds are the target audience.

Much as I like the original Star Trek and the new films, should not this thread be in the TV and Films forum?

No it shouldn't, for the reasons requested by the OP.

Any 'mod' that moves it should be ashamed of themselves.

Time will tell. As long as the one in red gets it in every episode....

I am very wary of the remakes and spin offs. The Last Enterprise dragged out into a dull thudding headache of TV watching.

Thanks for posting OP, I too was into the original series as a kid. Nice to see James Doohan's son playing Scotty.
