I wonder of the function of some TV programmes is to make us feel superior.

For example, take:

4-5 Objectionable berks (preferably with at least one who’s never heard of food)
4-5 Kitchens (washing up and magy cat hidden under sink)
1-2 Occasional assistants (rarely seen)
1 Supercilious tt (for idiotic voiceovers)

Et voilà!: Come Dine With Me

What is it with the print police? Even the broadest broadsheets are full of F words and yet I can't get away with tt. That's Tee, DoubleU, A and T.

Dave Lamb has the knack of saying something 0.1 second before I think it. He holds the programme together; no other VO would work.

Can't disagree;the quality of voiceover is perfectly matched to the content. Serves me right for watching
