I really enjoyed Chickens, written by and starring Simon Bird and Joe Thomas (Will and Simon from The Inbetweeners). It's a one-off, part of the Channel 4 Comedy Showcase series. If successful there could be a full series.

The three main characters play the only young men in a village who haven't gone off to fight in WW1.

I thought it was very funny.

I'm still wondering where I was supposed to laugh.

What funny bits? I like the inbetweeners, but transporting the same characters and mannerisms back to WW1 doesn't work at all. It's cringingly bad.

It would seem that the two Inbetweeners actors thought that because they had acted in a superbly funny show written by other people, that meant they could write their own successful comedy show.

They were wrong.
