I always watch III whenever it's on - wwere the delicious Mary Elizabeth Winstead not in it though, it would be a different story!

They are brainless fun, but the premise simply doesn't add up: what about all the other near misses that happen every day? Does death find inventive ways to kill the person that nearly stepped out into the road in front of the speeding truck, but was held back by a stranger?

(I know I'm over-analysing pulp)

The nail gun bit is the worst bit.

Generally I think these movies are ok, but would be oh so much better if they were a bit more viable.

Some of the weird accidents are just a bit too far fetched.

That is it. It's just unrealistic.

Suddenly they have 10kw lasers for eye surgery which can burn through your head.

Okkkaaayyyyy...

Guessing beforehand is fun too, reminds me of Casualty in the late 80s/early 90s laugh

Oh, the camera focused on a dodgy rung on a ladder for a seconds there, THATS IT! hehe

BIG twist at the end of this new one by all accounts.

I never go to the cinema to see these or even rent the DVDs. I just watch the youtube death scene clips, gets all the plot out the way. smile

I was under the impression that 'death' is only out to get the people who are alive because of that one premonition in the first movie? Not just everyone who 'almost died'.

The silly thing is, surely they were always going to have a premonition, and then walk away because of having that premonition? hehe

It's just a wishy washy mechanic to then go kill people.

The first film was half ok, as was the one with the wooden logs on the motorway, but some of the ways 'death' came to get them was a bit too much. Ie, gas turning itself on and leccy cables attacking people... hmmmm...

Aye, stuff turning itself on etc is just too much, tried to make it serial killer-esque. The good stuff is like the one where the girl steps off the pavement in front of the bus (first one?) and the pane of glass falling off the crane and squashing the kid (3rd one?)

Yep, some of the deaths are just really out of the blue but could happen alternatives.

I think the Saw films have changed things now. No longer can someone just die, but they have to be made into little pieces and things... bit sick really.

I actually don't mind a good horror, but it has to be mentally engaging too.

Hmmmm

And the old setup of a kid skateboarding down a hill towards a busy junction, avoids a car and you wait for the splat but then the scene cuts to a workman who steps on the dodgy rung and falls onto a spiked fence laugh

I miss that era of tv cry

I can guess at how most of the deaths happen on these things, but what happened at the drive thru?

Runaway truck. Then the engine of the 4 x 4 takes out the brain of the driver of the Triumph Spitfire.

About 30 seconds into this:

(Bit difficult to concentrate with the yummy Mary Elizabeth in shot. Reminds me of a younger and more attractive version of Gwen Cooper.)

The funny thing is, the truck isn't really that squished. Had they stayed where they were it looks like they'd have been ok...
