Did anyone just watch it where they followed the journeys of illegal immigrants from Afghanistan and Nigeria as they made their way towards Europe?

What a great piece of TV. Really interesting and emotive.

And on the topic of good programmes - Megacities. Thats quality too.

Good stuff from the BBC clap

Yes I saw both too, megacities was really enjoyable and the Panorama documentary was very moving at times. I say stop spending so much time and money on keeping them out, instead contain them when they are here, put them to work making things we need that aren't cost effective for British workers to make, offer them simple but secure accomodation and education in return. Then those that want to get past that stage can work and learn their way into the mainstream.

I watched it and found it very interesting.

I'm not the most racially tolerant person but I must admit I did feel sorry for some of the people in the programme

What I found interesting was the apparent difference between the 'dream' and the reality. Even when the young lads were living a nightmare camping under a bridge every night in Athens or somewhere they kept face and told their family back home that they were living in a nice house with a good job... no doubt just perpetuating the myth that its all roses once they reach Europe.

And to be fair to them, they were going all out in the hope to better their lives and improve life for their next generation. I wish some people in the UK shared their ambition and determination to better themselves. In a funny way those migrants were almost living exactly to the values that are always pushed on PH about getting off your arse and doing something to get what you want, not just sitting around and waiting for it to come.

Although i dont know their circumstances that led them there, taking your family and young children with you to sleep on the streets struckv me as a somewhat selfish act
