tbh i've just cancelled apply - i've had it for a year now and watched everything and nothing seems to be coming back in a hurry that I like - the new stuff seems pretty generic and when I start something new, it doesnt grip me..... or i discover when i click WATCH NOW i have to pay for it - i find netflix has a broader range of stuff that i can dig out and discover and know I dont have to pay anything else.

That’s exactly what I do - I’m currently “taking a break” and will jump back in when the latest series of For All Mankind or Slow Horses comes out.

Then scour this thread for other recommendations biggrin

I don’t mind the slow rate of new releases as long as they keep the quality up - which they seem to be doing…

Dark Matter - episode 8

I don't know how I feel about this. Either it's a stroke of genius (possible) or the writers have just taken away the single thing we were all rooting for.
It’s a deliberate direction for the story, exploring the chaos of a multiverse. But yeah it’s getting weird and will get weirder if it follows the book.

Same author wrote a novel called Recursion which is also being made into a tv series, it’s about memory manipulation (I won’t say any more) and reads like something. Christopher Nolan would make a film about. It’s great and I can’t wait for the tv adaptation.

Anyone watching Dark Matter?

Can't quite figure out whether it's any good but am sort of enjoying it partly because I really can't predict where it's going.
Enjoying it but you do need to turn off part of your brain to enjoy it, (with drugs maybe) it's like 30% plot holed pure trash, 70% decent fun.
I also can’t figure out whether I like it or not. It started really well but the last few episodes have just been fluff.

How many total episodes?
I gave up. Its lack of pace helped my insomnia though.
same here

a lot of these type of series now really dont bring anything new to the party, although the ending perhaps will be different, we've seen this in spades recently - dark , mysterious, slow burner scifi that deliberately confuses you until the end (being 8 weeks down the line)....ive just lost interest in these types of things
Just watched episode 7…. I agree it is slooooooooow but I’m intrigued enough to continue… however I’m really pleased my Mrs isn’t watching it, I have to explain the soaps to her let alone this complex mix up of two main characters and their family/friends…… biggrin
OH decided she wanted to watch this so about half way in, I started again and finished it last night.

Originally thought it was going to be a miss but was in fact really rather good. Never really knew exactly what the ending would be.

I just finiished "Drops of God"

Japanese/French wine drama.

Demonstrates what a load of pretentious old bks the wine industry is, but I really enjoyed it.

Well, I watched the the last episode and... it's was OK but I suspect it was just better in the book. I still think it would have make a good film or mini-series (3-episodes) but it has felt dragged-out over these 9-episodes.

I definitely like his ideas and would watch that.
