Animal with Ving Rhames - rather slow but interesting in a TV movie sort of way (albeit with quite a few well know actors). I quite enjoyed it

At the moment MRs DG and I are also still watching our way through Person of Interest, and while it is a mash-up of The Equaliser and The A-Team it's still pleasant enough viewing and 5 seasons long.

I've just stumbled across a load of music docu's on Amazon so that's a load more watching to be looking forward to. Just watched Iron Maiden's Beast (Classic Albums), nothing really new but still fantastic background with the occasional bits to replay Currently trying out Black Sabbath's Paranoid (Classic Albums). Excellent stuff

Jury Duty - “Jury Duty is a documentary-style comedy series that shares the inner workings of an American jury trial through the eyes of one particular juror.”

I found this was very watchable, anyone else?

I'm a few series in to that and rather like the way it transitions from individual cases per episode in the early seasons to a big overarching plot later on. the Equaliser/A-Team analogy is spot on for the first couple of seasons.

The Thin Blue Line – police comedy series written by Ben Elton, probably one of the best comedies shown back in late 90's staring Rowan Atkinson.

Some superb lines from Inspector Grim ” 'cause you know what'll happen Raymond, don't you - it'll be your cock up - my arse!”

Poolman - with Chris Pine. Tried to watch this last night. Is the second half any better than the first half?

And variations of, under-rated comedy imo.

“It’s my arse that’s on the line and I don’t want a cock up!” biggrin

Absolute comedy gold, James Dreyfus (Goody) is currently in House of the Dragon.

Funny how different comedic tastes are. I found it unwatchable - too cringey for me and I like both Ben and Rowan.

I thought it was childish tripe.

To be fair, I only ever saw probably two episodes, but I've never felt a compunction to try it again.

Yup rewatching this now. It may be childish but it’s a damn sight funnier than anything else I’ve seen on TV recently.

Nope, it's absolute ste. Thought I'd put a review in the film thread, can't find it. I think I said words to the effect that it's ste. ETA found it

On Prime, Chris Pine and Danny DeVito.

It's crap. A tragi-comedy-absurdity that fails to be any of them. It tried to hint to Chinatown but doesn't even do that well. Chinatown is a 9/10 film. This is the other 1/10.
Tried it last night. Gave up 20 mins in. Great cast. Terrible film.

Watched robocop instead.

Or Spooks, interesting castings thus far, strong. Typically complex opening, some shocking CGI, I could have done better with that lion, what were they thinking? Same for the stadium, guess Hopkins fee was so big they didn't have anything left to hire a tech team. Actually the horses. Cut and paste.

Hope the story stands up, suspect it's penned for many a season. Maybe if it's successful they'll do it properly.

(oops, posted this on a Suits thread in error)

Well, we finally reached the end of the final fifth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
What a fabulous series!

Beautiful sets and costumes, truly capturing the vibe of the era.
Also, well cast….only realised at the end Lenny Bruce was based on a real character, what a character he was in real life too.

A real shame they didn’t do another season - the last episode felt a little bit rushed, but it was an excellent watch throughout.

I just picked up with The Expanse again from series 5. It hadn't aired by the time I finished season 4 so forgot about it.

It really is remarkably good.
