Edna Miller. She wasn't in it for long but she was so miserable it was wonderful. One day she decided to change and 'look on the bright side', but even then everything went wrong.

Section 21 for Gemma and Chesney, that must be a bit of a shock, they didn't even know they had a landlord at the start of the week...
Amazing also it's a totally unknown character never been mentioned before...
Coincidence that there was recent news about the no fault eviction law changes being dropped..
Apropos the "unknown character" - surely nobody thought that the Browns owned the house? I see Joseph's grandma stepping in to buy the house and be their new landlord. Trouble ahead.
12 years ago, when Fizz lived there and the boiler was faulty, Tyrone tried to fix it, caused a carbon monoxide leak and put her in a coma.

Where was the landlord then and why do they still have the same faulty boiler?

Remember all those times Gemma and Chesney complained about not being able to pay the rent? No, me neither.

Continuity gets thrown out the window in favour of current affairs. Same happened a few years back on Eastenders when Dot got in trouble for subletting her council house to Fat Boy only for Sonia to inherit it years later when Dot died.

I found the cost of living crisis theme , as it affected Gemma , very moving stuff. I also enjoyed Glenda's reference to being "taken up the aisle".

The dastardly Joel is now going to murder the blonde Lauren v2 but the excellent Sabrina will help bring the dastardly lawyer to justice . This will leave Dee Dee to fall into the arms of whom? Adam ? And Ken will announce that he and Cassie are getting hitched . Other bonkers theories are available..

Oh - Stefan - there is no proof whatsoever, is there , that he's guilty of anything apart from being Corey's dad ? So the mucky videos were ...err... Max's evil work? Or Cassie ?

I've thought Cassie all along for this, but not really sure she has means.

The writers don't worry about such trivialities usually.

Interesting to see Carol Royle pop up as Joel’s Mum. I last saw her in the Professionals in a 1979 episode (‘Dead Reckoning’). She was a young actress then. 70 now!

I would have to say Eddie Yeats by a large margin.
Eddie. A good call. I'll also throw in Percy Sugden. How he would regale customers in the Rovers with his war time exploits, and being Catering Corps even managed to cook gravy whilst under fire!

Fun fact number 82,

Joel's mum also played Lord Ashfordly's sister in Heartbeat and Ethan's mum in Casualty.

And also Superintendent Bright's wife in Endeavour but best for me was Jenny in the brilliant but never seems to be repeated Life Without George

Individuals, probably Reg Holdsworth, but the teams are best, particularly Stan and Hilda.

Alec Gilroy (especially when sparring with Bet Lynch ) , Fred Elliot (especially his amorous pursuit of Maureen ) , Reg Holdsworth, Hilda and Fred Ogden and Steve Macdonald , who extracts a lot from a script than what is on the page. And Deirdre obviously , who was so effortlessly sexy . As was - sigh - Tracey .

Hilda's husband was called Stan.

Another few characters worth a mention are Phyllis, Percy and of course Mavis.
