An anti-climax to a very up & down series.
It was almost like part 2 was scripted by a diferent person to part 1.

Series overall? 5½ out of 10. Shows potential but could do better.
As a matter of interest, what did you think were the ups?

She was 18 when she started filming. How old are you?

For me, 73 Yards, The Devil's Chord, Rogue and perhaps Dot & Bubble all had enough good bits in them to outweigh the mediocre or just plain bad bits.
That's not to say any of them were of the standard of the best episodes of previous series'.

I didn't like the way Ruby discovering her biological mother was so neatly wrapped up but by the end I was in tears 'cos my own biological mother also gave me one thing: her initials.

She was Mary Agnes and she had me christened Mark Anthony (yes really!) though I had an entirely different name after I was adopted.

Leaving that aside, other than 73 Yards the recent series wasn't my cup of tea.

I thought there was some good elements over the past season, but as with most recent series, the actors have been let down by the stories. Less preaching this season, and I'm not interested in the Doctor's sex life.

I found the whole series absolute drivel, for just one reason - the crap scripts. Ncuti was fine, but with what he was given to work with, Sir Lord Olivier couldn't have done anything.

Even the delicious Ruby couldn't save it. She might be cute as hell, but she's no Sally Sparrow.)

Fair enough.

Only 73 Yards really stood out as being worthwhile to me and maybe the twist of the Doctor not being able to save people who were too stupid to save (Dot & Bubble), but he got to actually do so little that even that didn't seem that unlikely.

A couple of other episodes had good ideas, but the writing and too much running away and crying just wasted them, I thought.

Even before Jodie Whitaker came in, towards the end of Capaldi's time the woke crap was making an entrance. Why? Could they not just have left it as Doctor Who without the box ticking exercise? It's ruining so many shows now, it's a complete turn off for me.

I didn't mind this season. Good enough to keep me watching at least. I think Ncuti is a great doctor. It's a shame Ruby has left, Millie Gibson is very pretty indeed.
They could have definitely done more with the plot arc of her mother though. When she was holding the tablet I was so so hoping it was going to say Bad Wolf on it.

yes
There were many (better IMHO) ways that the series could have ended, but part 2 of the finale didn't live up to the expectations created by part 1.
I was anticipating that Mrs Flood may be Ruby's mother, or maybe that Ruby was the granddaugther/greatgrandaugther of a previous Doctor's travelling companion. Or even the mysterious woman from 73 Yards.

I have to say that Dot & Bubble was probably the best of this series for me with all the others being bang average at best. I thought 73 yards was good until the end and it seemed like they had a story but not an ending as that was a mess.

I thought the ending of dot and bubble is one of the more powerful scenes since "new Who" came back in 2005
