Twas a good, fun Dr. Who Christmas Special. The only jarring thing (which a few have picked up on) was The Doctor killing the Goblin King, that is a departure from the usual behaviour of The Doctor
Otherwise all good, I hope that the series won't be littered with song and dance routines though
he eats new born babies, I will give the Dr that killOtherwise all good, I hope that the series won't be littered with song and dance routines though

Ten minutes in and I’ve spotted a huge error.
No, not the single biggest box-ticking taxi ride, but the huge continuity blunder.
The Dr tells the copper, that’s my transport over there, and points at Tardis.
Cut to view from the opposite angle and the Tardis it out of site round a corner, ie invisible from the Dr / Copper POV
Downhill from there plot wise.
A series with a good actor totally hamstrung by awful plot.
I’ve seen this one.
What jumoed out for me was their flat looked to have the same dimensions on the inside as the Tardis! No, not the single biggest box-ticking taxi ride, but the huge continuity blunder.

Yes, there was even a line, something like, “all we could afford was the attic flat”That is probably a set constructed for recording the show and not a flat at all!!!
These tricksters do all sorts of this kind of thing.
Seriously, you watch a TV show about a Time Travelling Alien who has just changed into a different body and you are bothered by the fact that the flat was a bit big...

Isn’t the premise of the show this fantastical character saving the world time and time again?
Suspension of disbelief I can buy into, but the show is set on earth, this earth. The episode was set in London on earth, rather than some fantasy London where single foster carers who also care for their bed-ridden parent can afford million quid flats.

Just watched the last two. Was amused at the thought of what the regeneration was going to do to the noodles of people who take canon too seriously. Thought the silliness was at an acceptable level for a seasonal episode on the Kandyman index - not great, not terrible. Thought the new guy was excellent.
I am disgusted that the brilliantly brilliant tradition of a New Years day special has been trashed this year.
It was the New Years day highlight of the last 3 years and in itself was a brilliantly brilliant idea from a brilliant writer.
This writer (the Doctor Who writer not myself ) was a brilliantly brilliant writer who was not afraid to mess with a tried and trusted formula and introduced the idea of the New Years Day special. It seemed designed to attract lower viewers who presumably weren't the type of riff raff who watch Xmas day TV.
As a result these last 3 brilliant New Years Day specials got lower viewing figures which is something that a creative mind should not be afraid of.
They also always involved the Daleks. These Daleks were a new type of Hybrid Dalek and were in themselves brilliant.
I just hope that this Russell T Davies chap knows what he is doing in securing better viewing figures and better critical responses to his new shows.

Which was not Who in any way shape or form. The Christmas specials were awful. And the 13th Dr, entire run, we're terrible. The last decent Dr, IMHO, was capaldi and that was only a handful out of the lot.
Yes, I'm a Who fan but not of the last few iterations.
Blah blah blah. Do people like you never get bored of being so interminably dull? Yes, I'm a Who fan but not of the last few iterations.
I’ve watched every Who from Eccleston onwards (some before, but not all) and some were good, some were not great. But I just watch an enjoy. I don’t understand people that get so worked up about things ‘not being right’ etc, just watch the bloody show FFS.

Just about every New York based TV show has characters living in conditions way beyond their realistic means.
