I thought it was dull...too much sitting round the table, and Matt Smith might be able to chew scenery but one gust of wind would blow him over. All very samey so far, and not in a good way.
I agree. There seems to be too much fiddly dialogue. Although it shows promise.

Not sure what can be said here...
Agreed, there's no way to provide a trigger warning and not spoil the plot.

Panning down to unexpectedly see the second body wrapped up on the pyre must have been very upsetting to quite a number of people.

Just made me thankful we have modern medicine. Otherwise several of my female friends and family members (along with their children) wouldn’t be here today.

Epp 1 was quite slow, s2 is getting going nicely. Enjoying it but not a fan of Matt Smith and it annoys me his voice sounds like Ramsey Bolton from GOT

yup Matt S may be a decent actor but he really doesn't work in that role

I rather thought ep2 plodded along slowly. I'm not finding it very gripping yet.

Yep, episode 2 hit the spot much better. Some plot lines starting to be formed...

ETA: I think in the first episode there was too much chat and most of it just either uninteresting or unfathomable. Plus the fact it hadn't bedded in any characters so you didn't really care too much about them or if one passed away. It hadn't set the scene first or given us time to get to know the characters.

Some of the chat in ep2 was a little stilted but guess that was by design.. but just seemed a little jarring.

The 'courting' between King Viserys and Laena Vaelaryon was pretty toe-curling.

And pretty sick by normal modern standards.

Western standards. IIUI though whilst other cultures may be betrothed (or even married) at a very young age consummation does not take place until a lot later...

Perhaps more obvious in this show - but the same themes were in GoT too...

Sansa was 14 when married off, and talk of it far before that (when she was approx 12).

Daenerys (in the books) was 11 when married off to Drogo, the show did 'up age' her to 16-17 though.

The latest episode was still slow, but things started warming up at the end, with the usual backstabbing.

I enjoyed the first episode more than the second which felt a bit on the filler side.

Unlike the books which game of thrones was based on the book which the series is based on Fire and Blood isn't in the first person and more written as a history book so the show writers will have more work to do.

I'm not sure how many series of material they could/plan to get out of this story, 4 maybe 5 max? They could do multiple time lines and stories all under the banner of house of the dragon, although of that's the intent might have been better to start with the conquest?

Anyhow I'd like to see a series or mini series on Roberts Rebellion.

Well, that was dull. At this rate nothing interesting will happen until S2.

It's on prime now.

First two episodes are up, new episodes each Friday.

I find it very dull so far. I don't care about any of the characters at all and the acting is pretty wooden. Throw in tedious dialogue and it is a proper snore fest. It reminds me of the first Star Wars (ep.1) when we are bored by the senate stuff. I cringe when I see someone riding a dragon too as it just looks like a kids show.

I do hold hope though and wish it well.

I like the pace. It's a refreshing change, and 'should' build a rich and deep story.

Wooden acting I can somewhat live with. These sorts of roles take a bit of time to bed in. Look at some of the standout actors from GoT in their early episodes. Still struggle with Matt Smith though - not sure he has it in him to become convincing.

It 'should' be very obvious - understandably, they're pushing it very hard!

For me, it was the headline show as soon as I logged in.
