I would imagine some opportunistic has setup the companies in the names hoping perhaps to sell them on. A lot of companies are setup in random names and then sold to the person wanting a company with the name and directors changed shortly afterwards, and as this director is such in 80 odd companies I would imagine that's his business.

Does Jeremy actually own Diddly Squat farm Ltd as companies house seems to suggest otherwise.
Hasn't he gifted it to his children to save on inheritance tax
Not yet, but when he dies or chooses to hand it over, it will become his children's property at that point.

You are correct about inheritance tax. He said years ago that the only reason he bought a farm was because farms can be passed to children tax-free, so he thought it was the best way to shaft HMRC, by buying one of the most expensive farms he could.
Looks like it changed hands last year.

The company was only incorporated last year and the registered office is a dry cleaners in Yorkshire so I would suggest that this company is nothing to do with the farm. Very odd that "Diddly squat farm shop Ltd" is also registered to this address.

Generally with well known people the company will be set up with a seemingly nonsensical name to make it slightly harder for internet sleuths to find any real info. There is also likely to be holding companies inbetween Clarkson's various companies and himself.
With no insider-knowledge whatsoever, I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Adams set up the Diddly Squat companies in the hope that he could make some money out of the name. A bit like the cybersquattters who set up 21st Century Fox in the late-90's.

I wonder if the law of 'Passing Off' could be applied. Although I very much doubt JC would be that bothered.

We all know Clarkson is loaded but as farms go he’s got a lot of cash in hand! Most animal farm money is tied up in biological assets, Carksons doesn’t list any.

Last week on the Rest is Entertainment Podcast they discussed Clarkson's Farm, very positively. Richard Osman made a comment about the blackberry picking, Henry hoover, jam making.

Yesterday's podcast he announced that he'd been contacted directly by Jeremy who had stated, yes he did use a Henry Hoover, he did make all the jam himself, and made £250 profit.

Make of that what you will.

Apparently it's still doing staggering numbers on Prime.

[Gerald chuckling]
"See that was farming, wasn't it!"

One episode left. I'm sad that I've got through it so fast..!
I took a screenshot from the hunting episode, but i guess copyright stuff meant the accompanying image was cut out but these are the legit subtitles hehe

I'm sure all that's true.

But it was 100pc staged IMHO. That wasn't a serious attempt at farming it was done for the TV. There's no way Charlie provides advice on food preparation - he was there as a straight man.
There's no way Clarkson is not aware that quantities are a thing in recipes. (He owns a scales he uses for cooking as we saw in one episode.)

The fact he made jam and made a tiny amount of money doesn't make it real.

Great TV, not real.

I’m going to sound like a total creep now.

I did do some tracking on JC farm a few years ago after season 1. If you look up JC on companies house he has got a couple of food manufacturing companies that I believe are actually the farm.

There was an interview ages ago where he said he invented Diddly Squat farm for the TV show as he didn’t want it out in the public. Which makes sense as the farm is probably named the same as when he bought it.

Seconded. The odd thing is that BBB agreed the other day that there are various degrees of it just happened spontaneity to 100% setup for the LoLs and many shades in between.

Majority don't care as long as it's good TV, including those people earning a living from farming.

Well if that wasn't staged then the scene where JCs missus nicks JCs kitchen scales must be staged. They can't both be real.

Series 3 was a roller coaster of emotions but feeling anger towards a door opener on Downing St wasn't on my Clarkson's Farm bingo sheet, what a piece of work.

I did find it funny when he said ‘don’t do it again’, like sure pal, they’re gonna rock up to number 10 again another day and give Rishi a knock on the door. What a spanner.

I'm sure if it happened like it was portrayed on CF, the Telegraph would have been all over it, as they had it on Youtube 11 months ago.

Found out today that they sell the JC dark produce in the Amazon Fresh shops in London and it’s also available to buy on Amazon too. Surely they can’t be making that much product to supports those sales streams from just the farm.
