Jonny Smith's Late Brake Show...

Jonny is obviously aware of the potential issues as he makes reference to it in the introductory video. He is moving to two videos a week now so I guess content needs to come from somewhere.
Matt Farah has spoken about how badly effected their algorithm became by putting the Smoking Tire podcast streams and bike videos on their main channel - it skewed their figures so much that even people who were subscribed to the channel and had all notifications turned on were still not seeing the new car videos in their timelines and so not only were people not engaging with the ‘different’ stuff, they were not even seeing the main product either.
Generally ‘the internet’ hates anything that moves out of its very narrow classification niches.
Is that the case, or is it a separate coincidental issue? For example, I can't get any new Jay Leno's Garage videos in my feed despite subscribing to his channel and watching most of his videos. They just don't show up in my subs feed or home page recommendations - I have to type into the search to find them. I've heard of others having similar issues with other channels that haven't ostensibly changed anything about the content they are outputting.Matt Farah has spoken about how badly effected their algorithm became by putting the Smoking Tire podcast streams and bike videos on their main channel - it skewed their figures so much that even people who were subscribed to the channel and had all notifications turned on were still not seeing the new car videos in their timelines and so not only were people not engaging with the ‘different’ stuff, they were not even seeing the main product either.

YouTube really is a confusing beast at times - that’s infuriating!I can only repeat what Farah said as he will obviously know more about the details - they split the podcast from main feed a couple of years ago and he said the uplift in main channel views and new subscribers was considerable.
As someone mentioned above, Harry also tried bikes to enable a two video a week schedule and they flopped.

Separate issue. The subscribed-channel videos not appearing in your subscription feed seems to a general, random YouTube glitch unrelated to the almighty algorithm. A fix worth trying (if you've not already) is to un-subscribe to the channel, and the re-subscribe.The issue Matt Farah refers to is far more likely to be that the vastly lower view counts, watch-time and viewer engagement of their podcasts, bike content etc dragged down all of the videos on the channel in terms of how the YouTube algorithm works, meaning all of their videos were less likely to appear as suggested content (though it shouldn't have had any impact on the videos appearing in a channel subscriber's subscription feed / page). Hence moving the podcasts to a separate channel and doing less of the less popular content helps increase the channel's overall average views etc and the algorithm will favour it more.

I can’t see the Jay Leno ones either, subscriber since the start….will unsubscribe and try again!Simes205 said:

Fully subscribed and have ticked the little bell , but I get no notifications of new videos. They do appear on my home page , but randomly in with other suggestions/ subs.

It would appear someone from this very website has gone and built a 917k replica.

Indeed a most excellent video of a wonderful car.
I remember seeing the bodyshell when it was originally advertised for sale, and briefly daydreamed about taking a punt on it and turning it into something. I wouldn't have been able to make half the job of it that these guys have done, though.

I rate Jonny Smith really highly, and think he'd be a great guy to spend hours chatting about cars, but I find a lot of his videos a bit boring if I'm honest.
It feels like he's a great Youtuber (the hardest bit to nail) but he just can't often get hold of the right content...
You can see it in the viewing figures, two videos both released 2 months ago:
The Secret Mercedes Museum - 333k views
Mercedes Rally Car - 43k views (still not bad in the grand scheme of things I guess)
