Point is, in S1 of GoT, magic does not exist. Any references are fairy tales.

Dragons on the other hand are recent history.

Therefore Dragons can't fly by magic.
The Dothraki have Blood Magic healers in S1, and Daenerys walks out of the fire with her dragons completely unburnt in Season 1, Episode 10.

Magic.
Neither of those happen in Westeros. There is no magic, or even belief in magic there, yet everyone knows there were dragons. There are even skulls at Kings Landing.

In S1 of GoT dragons were extinct / queried if they ever existed, and white walkers never existed and were fairytales.

HoD is 200+ years before GoT

Magic or not, Dragons exist and fly..

Quetzalcoatlus (flying dinosaur) existed in our World, wingspan of reportedly 50-70'

That puts it not far off dragons smile

Either way, its make believe so smile
There were several dragon skulls at Kings Landing and the place where they were kept still existed. No k e doubted they existed.

Everyone doubted magic existed, that was a big part of the story!

I'm with you. It's just implausible how they get airborne at all. Wings are nowhere near big enough.
Magic!

Next you'll be asking how Dead Dragons with holes in their wing can fly, or skeletons can wield swords!
But that's not the explanation given. We see them awkwardly lumbering along trying to build up speed to take off like a goose.

White Walkers etc are magic that no-one understands and most thought were a fairy tale. Magic didn't exist in the early series of GoT, but dragons did, albeit they were extinct.
The explanation was that Magic died out a lot when the Dragons died out, the birth of new Dragons in GOT started the Magic again. So, yes, Dragons = Magic..

Source: GOT Wiki - https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Magic
And that makes no sense either - dragons are everywhere in HoD, yet there is no other magic at all. Not a single bit.
Both Viserys and his Daughter have 'dragon dreams' (visions of the future)

Magic has already started declining as most of the Dragons died in the Doom, Balerion the Black (long dead) was the last Dragon actually born in Valeryia. There were likely hundreds/thousands of Dragons at the height of Valeryia.

Except we know the white walkers exist during HoD, Magic is everywhere, we've just not explicitly been shown it yet in HoD.

Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean its not still there..

I'll wager the faceless men are still operating in Bravos (given they were operating during the time of the Doom many years earlier!)
In universe no one believes in magic, yet everyone believes in dragons.

Therefore Dragons cannot be magic!!!

You said it didn't exist in S1, which it did. Of course there were skulls at KL, It's the skulls of the Dragons we are now seeing in HOTD.

The Wall was Magic and in Westeros and Existing in S1 and was Manned in S1

The Faceless men existed in Westeros
The Red Priests existed in Westeros
The Three Eyed Raven existed in Westeros
The Children of the forest existed in Westeros
The undead existed in Westeros
Wargs existed in Westeros

Magic was all around, most of the common folk just didn't see it!

Doesn't mean it wasn't there smile

You are still completely missing my point.

How can dragons fly by magic, for thousands to see with their own eyes, yet no-one believes magic exists?

If dragons fly by magic, thousands have SEEN MAGIC WITH THEIR OWN EYES.

The fact that no-one believes in magic, despite having seen dragons fly, proves that dragons don't fly by magic!

People MUST believe that they fly the same way that birds do.

Please show me canon where noone believes in Magic ?

Old Nan for example told Bran stories of Magic and White Walkers and the things that exist north of the wall / the long winter.
They believe in prophecy (which is magic!)

I think you're simply going toooooooo far with your interpretation here smile

Either way... Dragons be Magic fire breathing beasts that can survive hundreds of years inside an egg, not self-combust and know a Valyarian from a commoner!

Long live the Dragons smile

I quite like the dragons as a weapon, for the way it changes battles and that kind of thing. They breathe fire too!

The lord of the rings / pixie / rebirth stuff I definitely am
Not a fan of.

No-one has seen a Dragon fly for 3-4 generations in S1, so they'd have no frikken clue either way wink

There hasn't been a single mention or showing of it in HoD. No priests or other magical people in any position of authority. Even religion is sneered at by many (Daemon vs Alicent).

200 years later, in GoT people in Westeros explicitly don't believe in white walkers, wargs, Red Priests or any other type of magic. They are dismissed as superstitions and fairy tales.

Ok, so you're just guessing / surmising / jumping to conclusions then.

Afraid there is nothing I can comment based on that.

Edited your post for accuracy.

PS the Brotherhood without Banners believed in the Lord of Light, thus Magic and Red Priests, and was created indirectly in S1 by Eddard Stark.

I've set out my logic very clearly, several times.

Unfortunately ( for you), I'm not convinced by poor arguments and post doctoring.

I have a history book that tells me a man turned water in to wine and fed the masses with bread and fishes..

Doesn't mean I know it happened, only that it was written down.

biggrin You've been a pleasant enough chap so far, lets keep this civil smile

That's ok, I didn't write GoT or HoD, the professionals did, so lets leave it to them, you're the one objecting to them and their plot after all smile

I'm reminded of an old quote from Mark Twain about not arguing with people, I'll leave this with that smile
