Thought this was his farm: https://goo.gl/maps/G8NY4dqUdf8jaZ4ZA

You can see the long low building and raised beds.
That is his place, and the farm shop is 1km NNW. I think his actual house is about 600m north?

I think that'd be a tad cruel to be honest.

I know if my 'similar' mates (fishing community) were to do something like that, they'd actually find it traumatic and overwhelming.

Enjoyed this at 8 episodes in. Genuine laugh-out-loud moments every episode and nothing feels scripted.
It's also a very fun introduction to farming. Big expenses though, wonder if it's sponsored or out of Jezza's own pocket.

What's with all the cars parked in the field? Is that shop traffic?
As the crow flies, the shop is 2 miles north of those cars in the field, next to the caravan park.

Looking at it again, just to the west is a load of farm equipment, that looks like an aerial shot of the auction.
Yes I think so too. I spotted the cars then zoomed in to see what they were and noted that the farming equipment was all lined up in the adjacent field with lots of people standing around. I thought it some cool coincidence that google would capture the actual auction in progress! smile

I’m enjoying this more than the all recent GT episodes!

Of course it’s slightly contrived, but it is entertainment after all.

The pond was planned properly and completed professionally. In between the two, JC got to tw@t about for a bit. The end result is a few laughs for some and a new correctly constructed pond for the benefit of the local environment. All good smile

I nearly made it to the end of the opening credits. It looks like the same over contrived formula that ultimately turned me off both TG and then TGT.

Clarkson is playing a character. And it’s old and it’s tired.

I’ll stick with Harry’s Farm. If I want comedy, I’ll watch England V Croatia.
So, you were wrong about the football. Got any more presumptions?

Should do a travelogue from around the world, not just visiting cities, but major events and/or fun activities that us regular tourists might get up to thumbup

A bit like idiot abroad, but clearly dropping the idiot part from the title, as Kaleb is far far VERY far from that!

I'd love it thumbup

Amazon must be writing the cheques for a lot of it I would guess. Nice deal for Jezza. Get paid for a TV show, get your farm partially funded.

Also was surprised that Lambo tractor was 40k. I was expect 2-3 times that.
He bought it second hand. Wasn't new.
Even so. It looks like a massively sophisticated piece of kit. Unless the 2nd hand market for tractors is tough. Seems like a bargain.

Are Kaleb and Gerald father and son? Gerald reminds me of when I first saw Hot Fuzz with the Police dog handler saying “Tharp”. I then worked in Gloucestershire and all became clear.

It's not like he needs the money. Must have made 7 figures from selling Top Gear, then again from Grand Tour. Plus WWTBAM, Times and other journalism. Doubt money causes him sleepless nights. It's a good gig, that's for sure.

If he owns the 1000 acres outright (big assumption of course!) then arable farmland in the cotswolds looks like approx £9.5k- £10k an acre so thats £9-10m of land on its own (inheritance tax free too I think as a bonus) so based on that he is probably doing OK for money...

He's quite open he bought it for a relative song in 08.

He's also been very open that part of the motivation was to show how tough it is to make money doing farming - he's alright, as he puts it he can get on the phone and do another series of Millionaire or whatever.

Yes, he's throwing in the entertainment side to pull people in - but I genuinely think he's doing all this for the right reasons.
