I've been trying to think of someone who is British who could do the character and a big name like Urban. Struggling.

Haley Joel Osment is in S2 of What We Do In The Shadows too, I had no idea he was in The Boys.

Looking forward to The Boys S2 now smile .
Could Jason Statham do it or Luke Evans?

I am looking forward to the new series though.

"The Stathe" would be perfect but I can just about cope with Mr. Urban's meandering accent as the rest of the series has been so much fun.

Not sure why people are getting so hung up on the accent. Urban is charismatic and imminently watchable, especially in this role and the show is a cracker so frankly, I'm too busy enjoying it to worry about a bit of a wobbly accent.

Ray Stevenson would have made a good Butcher (going by the comics)

I think it’s a bit ‘uncanny valley’. His accent seems authentic, but it’s a bit ‘off’. If he’d done a generic mid-Atlantic hard man I wouldn’t give it a second thought. But instead part of my brain is distracted.

That's what it is for me. I've got no problem with Urban playing the part, he's a great character. It's just that every so often there's a word in there that throws you off that he isn't really a cockney geezer. To an American audience it's probably fine and not noticeable. It's a very small point in what is otherwise a great series that I liked a lot, and I'm looking forward to September 4th for the new ones.

Incase anyone doesn't follow the Amazon Prime thread, the season 2 schedule for The Boys is 3 episodes on 4th September, then weekly on Fridays. https://www.radiotimes.com/news/on-demand/2020-08-...

Planning on watching a chunk tonight.

Has anyone seen the half hour pre season 2 panel show that’s on amazon?

Never seen a panel show like that before. Very funny.

Same thoughts for me.

Still excellent but a bit more story focused this time rather than funny moments but I suppose they got all the shock factor and humour in the first series it would die out if they just done that again.

Hate the 3 episode then weekly crap, If i wanna binge it and ruin it for myself I should be allowed to. I need more karl urban and his terrible british accent.

More of the same but taking the gore up to 11, it's excellent just what we need at this moment.

Homelander always looks on Stormfront with mild disdain.

Watched the 3 this afternoon, I thought it moved things on pretty well. Stormfront's no sts given attitude is something different to the others. Shame they haven't released the whole lot but at least this way we can come on to this thread and be on the same episode week by week.
