neighbor needs to have his house burned down in the middle of the night.

that'll put him out of the picture, and let the builder get on with his dream.

then the builder can file complaints when the other guy is getting his house rebuilt hehe

Mind, if I remember right, this chap fell foul of planning with his shopfront in Muswell Hill.

They seem a nice genuine family and he's got real passion for the build, it's a shame the neighbors are ruining it for them.

Definitely. Move a bunch of travelling folk in if his neighbour keeps complaining. See how they like that instead.

Planning laws are so screwed.

It would be intresting to see where the neighbors house is compaired to his new build, it must be quite close if they are botherd about the height so much.

Well, the shopfront was in the program dated 2006 - the news report was dated 2004. I guess he has a good solicitor?

This one's a bit of a strange one for me. I'd love to do what he is doing (and hope to one day) but not the WAY he is doing it. It's a bit of a shame.

I can't see which neighbour is causing a fuss, and why this problem wasn't sorted before now (doesn't he have to publish the plans for people to look into for a certain time before start?).

Not surprised if this caused a divorce.

edit....Ok I see the shop front changed......

Forced to do so by the planners.

All this proves to me is that a solid British spirit and a sense of drive are no match for the petty grumblings of a neighbour that whinges about somebody's 20-year dream being 3ft too high.

The Council really need to grow a spine and tell the neighbour to accept the decision of their planning committee.

Good luck fella.

But the colour wasn't approved, he said that. They just told him to tone the Cedar down is what I heard.

Which is not what his plans said.

Sorry but this guy goes around doing what he wants. Don;t get me wrong I am not a fan of councils and planning and I love the house but how has he gotten away with it?

If that was me or you they would have torn it down. is he a mason or something

I bet he'll be tempted to push them out the patio doors if he does.

He seems a really great guy, slightly eccentric taste (all the better for it) and I am glad he got the permission for the house. Damn those neighbours of his.
