Your tone is so sassy lol, we're only having a discussion.

But I'm pleased you're starting to ask the right questions now, after Harry is labelled an expert over Auto Alex, but the only difference between them is years they've been doing it.

So what is an expert?

To me a journalist can be labelled an expert in two ways, whether they're an expert in communicating how the car feels to drive or they are an expert driver from either a racing background or a car development background.

So to me, Henry Catchpole is an expert communicator.

But someone like Tiff Needell I would say is an expert driver.

My favourite car reviewer is probably Steve Sutcliffe, he only had a short racing career, but the way he communicates how a car feels is fantastic.

Happy to hear you out on what you think makes an expert?
I thought you were being deliberately obtuse and I was right - you knew fine what makes harry an expert.

No I'm not, you can't just say he's an expert because you feel like it.

I usually ignore your posts and I noticed others do too and I can see why now

Been a long time since she's done anything automotive related on YouTube, especially after that weird arrangement where she sold her channel and then ended up with it back, but Emma Walsh is now Sky Sport's first influencer ambassador... whatever that means.

She’s the very definition of ‘getting by on her looks’ because Christ she’s dull. I’d rather listen to Shmee talk about the colour of his pants or even Archie talk about the mods to his next car (hint- it’ll be black with some st Maxton Design body kit and cheap wheels).

I've always found her to be entirely style over any substance but maybe that's exactly what an 'influencer ambassador ' needs to be.

I can't imagine watching or engaging with anything she does but clearly plenty find her aspirational or whatever (much like TGE, though he does actually also have charisma).

Fair play to her for creating opportunities for herself, genuinely sure she's worked hard for it even if she's dull to watch!
This above has been re-quoted from the past because…

Exactly, so there's no place for these 'blokes woioi' discussing the looks of women. End of.
To counter ThomW’s hypocritical lecture on misogyny. Although it was less a lecture, just another excuse for TW to browbeat people. He tried that again, after I quoted that old post, including calling me rude names. That post got removed by the mods, with TW now likely on an enforced break from this thread/PH.

Not got the views, but actual interesting content. I hope they follow this up with more of these style of videos. There's some really fascinating people in the British car scene with great cars and stories.

Collecting Cars have committed hari-kari. Just like Petrolicious they have ruined a once glorious formula by chasing the 'yoof' and gone all wokey-cokey.

It's an unsubscribe from me.

We can only hope that Chris gets the band back together and creates an icon.

I reckon if Alex and his team were in their 50's, spoke like someone who went to a grammar school and did boring walkaround videos you'd receive him better.
A lot of you struggle to see past the youthful "bantz" and style of the channel, even though it's how a lot of us in our 30's speak to each other.
One of you said he just does Youtube and isn't a real journalist even though he worked for Autocar for years writing reviews that many of you would've probably read without question.

Some of his stuff doesn't land with me, but the accusations of creating contrived, scripted drama etc just doesn't align with what I see when I watch the videos. They're young(ish) guys having fun with cars and filming it. If it was Harry doing the same thing but with less laughter, fun, breakdowns etc you'd lap it up.

I still find it mind boggling that the critics appear to watch every episode only to moan about it on here. I find Harry's videos boring and repetitive so I stopped watching a while ago.

Do you not find him to be incredibly well-spoken?

On the point about "watching and moaning", I absolutely loved the stuff he did with Ethan, Jack and Edwin on CarThrottle. Their creativity, energy and enthusiasm for the cars and subjects was infectious. I'm looking for the new channel(s) to rediscover that, and can't help but be disappointed when they don't. Seems fairly normal to me.

Fair enough, it's more the comments about them laughing too much, smacking bums, "bantz" etc that I find strange as that's what they've always done. Alex is well spoken, but doesn't have the BBC accent that many older viewers seem to prefer.

What happened to the other guy they had doing their videos and buyers guides? I thought at the time it was all auditioned and it was a full time role.

Is Emma still doing that for Sky, because that was years ago.

She was the circuit TV presenter for Austria two weekends ago and did a little bit for the F1 TV app there as well. It was a trial, but she’ll hopefully get some more opportunities.

I actually know her really well, and ‘getting by on her looks’ and ‘entirely style over substance’ couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s genuinely very knowledgeable about cars and F1 and is as much into car culture and are cars as anyone on here. The one thing she’s struggled with is not actually showing her real personality on camera as she comes from a stage and performance background so has been trained to always be polished and well presented. This can come across as a bit distant and cold, but it’s something she’s aware of and she has been trying to change that with some of her recent instagram content.
