Nope, just think it’s pretty pathetic that it’s 2024 and men are still commenting harshly on women’s appearance from behind a faceless, nameless keyboard.
Ban everything, quick! That'll make everything better-call for the thought police!
WTF has that got to do with my post? I’m not talking about banning anything, I’m talking about basic human decency and not being a misogynist.
What are your pronouns?

I think Thomas who has a BMW and was born in 1987 is looking for something to cause a mass debate.

I myself, is not that keen on mass debaters.
I read it as he's got a BMW (E)87. Probably a 114i. No badges. Cloth. Business stereo. In grey. On 16s. hehe

Careful writing "lol", some misanthropic knobcheese will be along asking if you speak like that in real life.

I bet all those commeting here are Reform voters. Only on PH could someone be in the wrong for suggesting that a bunch of men shouldn't pick on a woman for <checks notes> ageing.

You will lose that bet.

Thought the Auto Alex trip video was poor last night. Half an hour with not really much shown, other than endless shots of the BMWs lined up on the road or parked up. Even the dramas weren't really shown or explained, Taylor's dramas were just sort of mentioned without details, someone was there doing photos/video so why not properly add it in? And the overheating would have been better explained if they'd shown the temp gauges in the red adding a bit of drama, shown how the poor fan in Rory's car was or shown them removing the stat from Freddies to stop the issues.

It made it feel like they were rushing on the filming days and forgot to do stuff then cobbled it all together and tried to stretch it out in the edit. Maybe part 2 will be better.

Have we had any comments about the AutoAlex BMW road trip video yet?

Shame Taylor couldn't make it, but I like Tavarish and Tom Lenthall joining them was good fun. I was seriously impressed with the E28 engine swap, and I now have a serious hankering for a 528i.
I'd also love an E30 touring, can't believe how cheap they were about 10 years ago and how much they've appreciated. I do think it needs either an entire engine rebuild or a swap of some sort though. Love the choice of wheels.

Yes I thought it was very dull indeed. No real technical details on any of the cars for the non-subscribers, would have been nice to hear some details on the E28. Although I thought a nice change that Alex didn't jump on the bonnet of one of the others cars. Next to Freddie, he looks absolutely tiny too.

I too was somewhat unimpressed by the road trip video, when usually they are my favourite.

I suspect the issue was similar to the recent TDC video on the 24hr challenge, it didn't have 'a story' - ie. beginning-middle-end - plus they just were pottering along some motorways.

Having seen their Instagrams over the past week or so, they get to visit museums and that event in Poland, so the future parts should be more interesting.

Such is the problem for full time channels, if they have spent nearly a week on a trip then they need to pump out multiple videos to make it worthwhile, when perhaps some tighter editing was needed.

Vlog/road trip content is simply hideously inefficient - it just isn't a good way to make money.

Massive demand in terms of cost/time and relatively little returns.

I watched it, for my sins, hoping they could return to some of the Car Throttle magic.

It was dry. Really dry.

I'd say almost half of the content was them repeating the same sit-reps about the state of their cars, it repeating the same updates from Taylor.

Then, when they'd really run out of ideas, they resorted to the inevitable "I'm really starting to bond with this car" schtick that Top Gear managed to do so much better.

Can't say I'll hurry to watch the sequel.

Agreed, it was dull also seemed strange to me that Taylor did not just take his 540I and forget the 6 series from the start.

Maybe the later parts if Taylor does join will be better.

Not that I will be rushing to watch based on the first part

I follow the guy who does the editing on instagram, he had a st load of content and hardly any time to edit it so I'm not surprised it's a bit hashed together.
I enjoyed it, but I think I focus more on the "4 mates driving cool cars, doing a roadtrip" element of it rather than the content itself (I know that makes me very easily pleased lol). Hopefully Pt2 is more up your street.

I thought that too. But then saw there was a kerb which he was stood off and the other guy was on.

He isn’t a tall chap though.

Video boring and the horn/brake pedal trick is so 2002

For me it was 90% cinematic shots of them spread across the carriageway, it did lack in content and I started time-watching towards the end. I watched a BQR video prior to this of them fitting the engine to the E36 and enjoyed it 50x more.

The saving grace on the AA vid is that Jag love

I read on FB Hubnut is doing a cheap car collection caper. His content has become very dull of late, so hopefully this will be more entertaining.

He tried to take the 540, got to France and one of his wheels shat itself. Pretty big hole in the barrel of the wheel. I think after that he gave up.

One thing I find interesting to see is where car journalists actually put their money.

And as I look at cars like Huaracan, the 488, MC20, 296 etc etc, Harry went and bought a 650S.

Not an Artura or a 600LT.

Yet no one really speaks about the 650S.
