Does anyone else think the Top Dead Centre crew are a bit unsafe with the way they fix cars. They never use gloves and even worse, they have oil, coolant, bolts and other rusty bits dropping right by their eyeballs (as they use no safety glasses). Health and Safety does not apply to these blokes. Otherwise, they are very entertaining.
Mat A is often the same.

I cringe when I see angle grinders in use without glasses or spraying / sanding / painting without respirators.

Not really, I never wear gloves or eye protection (unless I'm grinding).

I struggle to get too worked up about it, to be honest. I've seen plenty of the same and much more risky behaviour from people working on their cars at home. It's not like TDC need to set any kind of example.

Few YouTubers are professional mechanics, have a go hero’s with a camera. But that’s the appeal, it shows that anyone can have a try at spannering.

I’ve not seen many Car Wow videos lately.
The ones that pop up seem to be a drag race with Audi’s or some horrible SUV supercar brands.
What happened to the daily drives car reviews ?

It's the use of grinders without guards that's the most egregious thing I see on these videos, having almost de-gloved my finger when using a knot wheel I am cautious when using an angle grinder.

In related news, I see someone has acquired a nice manual V6 Alfa 166, hopefully less rusty than their Punto biggrin

And asked them if they sucked cock and took it up the arse.

Hard to believe it was 'only' 25 years ago.
ISTR the profile questions were 'pink or brown' and 'spit or swallow'
And do you play the pink oboe.

Those were the three I remember.

Which as a fairly naive 15/16yo I didn't really know what they were getting at biglaugh
Shut up it was obvious plus I am sure all the boobs were 18. Still a bit creepy but it was part of the scene I am told by those who had cars back then (i was a student an rode the bus). Boobs came out for cameras only and willingly.

I used to like the free CDs dance music mix by some unknown DJ etc. Fast cars magazine was often accompanied by one. I believe with you tube modifying cars is alive and well just not in print. EVs sadly will end that

They were over 16, not 18. It was a bit iffy, IMO.

Indeed. You can already buy 'tuning' parts such as bodykits, suspension and wheels for EVs much like other motorcars.

I'm sure there will be future boy racers dropping bigger electric motors into cheap Nissan Leaves or Renault Zoes, let alone the fact that many EVs are silly fast to start with.

Well, nobody is going to be buying a Peco Big Bore 4 for their EV. Not sure that's a bad thing though! I actually imagine the difficulty of customisability on the drivetrain might actually lead to an increased demand for bodykits, wheels, etc. It's not my cup of tea but some simply love to customise.

I assume less modifications also back in the 90s, Nova, Fiesta, Renault 5, 205 etc all within reach and then mod-able but what a Nissan Leaf and Model 3 how much are they etc

The Cheapest Leaf on AutoTrader is £2k, for a 2012 with 90k mile, a Corsa of the same age and mileage is around the same price.

Me neither, eye protection for grinding but i don't see why a YouTube channel should be the leaders in H&S.

I wouldn't over-egg it. They don't need to give health and safety advice to thickos just because they make videos.
